Is there anything similar that's compatible with OS X?
na, i have osx, had to get a cheap (very) laptop..it has 128mb of RAM!
works great..bit slow takes about 3 minutes to do a full scan.

Right so mine finally turned up from DX, however my laptop wont read the disc that comes with it so I cant install the software to do a scan. Any ideas why?
I had that cable and it was poop! some times it would connect others it wouldn't.
had poor latency aswell. Mine wasnt the full unlocked version either.
The one from bestoffer is far better
Try running it on 32bit. That's what I had to do with mine. I'm also on Windows 7

I had to go into windows then computer and select the external drive thing and run it from there.
Cant quite explain as I'm not a computer wiz but I managed it. As far as I remember there was 3 files on the disc and only 2 of them were compatible with my system.

My brother inlaw sorts out all out tech issues as its his day job. I can just about get by with the laptop, lol
Think it might be down to my disc having a deep scratch, even though iv literally just opened it.
I had an issue with my 1st disc. I fried it by using it with the internet on and it updated.
They refunded me the money and sent another one out. Although I got mine from bestoffer
