My bridgestones will be needing changing soon and with my power hike i was thinking of getting some more sticky tyres to get the power down
now would it be ok to do just the fronts? i was thinking of getting some 235/40 18 Federal RSR
any reasons that this will make the back end be more twitchy etc?
cheers
simon

ive been looking at some yokohama ad08 but just wondering how long/miles they would last with them only having 5mm on them new
also can get them for £141 fitted per tyre

what about bridgestone potenzas? Are they any good?

Depend's what you want from a tyre, the RE050 is a little old now so not so great on grip when compared with others, not to quiet either, I'd avoid the RE050 but the newer Bridgestone are improved.

Bridgestone cost less/mile than Michelin but then they are two different types of tyre. .

I was looking at continental contact sport 5, I think that's what the guy said, today but the tread on them felt strangely like the worst tyre I ever had on my leon. Esta or something I forget. I'm hopefully going to get a set of four goodyear eagle f1 tomorrow. I don't know if they are dsg3 or asymmetrical, find when I give the guy a bell. Is there much difference between the dsg3 and asymmetrical?

I'm poor, my wife keeps spending all our money and no matter how many times you back hand them they still do it, so I'm afraid it's going to have to be part worns.:(

I was just having a wee nosey online at the different tyres, their descriptions and quick ratings. The quick ratings such as fuel economy = F then wet grip = B and the noise level in dB.

I have to say that how they come to their conclusions is quite beyond me. I remembered that I had khumo Escta on the leon at one stage and they were not half the tyre that the toyo proxe t1-s were and I presume that the newer t1-r should be new and improved. The toyos are E rated for the wet and the khumo are C rated. The standard Pirelli p6000 that came on the car are better in the dry and the wet than the khumos. Maybe half as good again and both revieve a wet rating of C.

Anyway, just an observation.
