Leon Cupra R, which exhaust?

Morning guys. Looking for a 3" exhaust for my Cupra R but I'm not sure what to buy. Miltek is expensive and too quiet and common for my liking. I'm interested in a custom jobby but I can seem to find someone local that does 3" piping.

Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat as you bud, looking for a 3" system for my lcr. I think I will be going non res cobra turbo back system with decat as I have seen some good comments about them regarding their tone.

I've tried to get Blue flame to do a 3 inch cat back which they will do but will require a car to create the JIG on.
The Cobra 3inch turbo back is good other than its a 200 cell cat and requires sub frame removal/lowering which affects the geometry. A Blue flame 3 inch down pipe can be fitted without adjusting the sub frame.
It would be good if cobra would make a 3 inch ca tback, but unfortunately I've asked them and they won't.

I fitted my cobra 3" downpipe without removing the subframe.

Are you saying the cobra doesn't need to adjust the sub frame as that is what i've read.

Nope, cobra is a straight fit.
Fiddly, but certainly do able.

Cobra is what mines wearing. On boost sounds the beast. Go Cobra you won't regret it. Btw Cobra should pay us all for recommending them

a small word of warning - my cobra fell apart, and I'm sure I'm not the only one it has happened to. Not a problem if you're the original owner and can get it back to them for a warranty repair, but must say I'm not impressed with mine.....

That's not being negative, just being honest.

All manufacturers have positives and negatives, from my own personal experience the Cobra is good, mine knocks a little on the axle when hot (because the car is now lower than stock) which I sorted with some insulating material, the best exhaust I ever had was a Magnex, fitted as well as OE, sounded great, just was too expensive for me on the Leon as it was £950 ish

yeah, I wouldn't be too concerned if you're the original purchaser and you can get it back to Cobra (I'm down south so not a chance for me, even if I did purchase it originally - which I didn't), and if you're not planning on keeping the car for too long, it's probably a very good choice.

For info, mine also knocked on the axle, and my car is lowered too.

Just to put it into perspective though, I had my broken Cobra backbox replaced by a reputable longlife fitter, and it certainly was not problem free (at first). But because he was local I was able to take it back & sort. In hindsight I wish I had gone for a miltek catback. After seeing the state of my Cobra backbox, I wouldn't buy another.

there is a thread on here with pics - basically the weld between the backbox and the tailpipe failed, it came completely off, taking some of the surrounding metal from the side of the backbox off with it, so it couldn't be repaired. Will find the thread and post a link here
