I have a new SEAT Leon with the technology pack which includes the Media System Plus / Navi System and wondered if anyone else has had the following problem with a USB memory stick plugged into the MEDIA-IN multimedia cable:

The system will play my MP3 music tracks correctly from the USB memory stick, but sometimes after switching off the system and then switching back on later, the system doesn't recognise that anything is plugged into the multimedia cable. The only way to make the system see the USB memory stick again, is to unplug it and then plug it in again while the system is switched on. I have tried several USB memory sticks and they all do the same thing. I have also checked the cable, plug and socket and there are no loose or intermittent connections. I also put exactly the same MP3 tracks onto an SD card plugged into the SD2 socket and that is always recognised, so I wondered if this might be a software bug. I think the problem usually occurs if the last display before switching off was the satnav, but I need to check this again to be sure.

I had a similar issue with a fat 16 formatted SD card. It would read sometimes but not others. Reformatting to fat32 fixed it (note, you won't have this problem if the stick is >4GB)

I've had the OP issue a couple times (8gb stick) but not for about 5 weeks. It's just seemed to sort itself out.

I have another issue that you could try for me?

Follow this process:

1. Play music from USB
2. Turn off engine leaving media playing onto the next track
3. Press maps on media system
4. Turn engine on and leave maps on the media system
5. Let USB move to another track
6. Press media button on system
7. It jumps back to the track that was playing when you turned the engine off?

I have tested the above twice and it has jumped back to the memorised turn off point. Bug?

Unfortunately the problem occured with a 4GB and a 16GB USB memory stick and still happened after I reformatted both USB memory sticks as FAT32 before reloading the MP3 tracks again, but as I said previously, this does not seem to affect my SD card (which is 2GB).

OK - I will try this when I have a moment and report what happens!
