+1 on the door lock, replacing it will sort it although I also appreciate the hassle, not to bad though.

Hi guys, I have a similar problem on my 2002 LC, on the key fob all the doors lock but on unlock it only does the drivers door, I can hear all the door trying to open but they only all open and lock on the button on the drivers door, does it sound like I'll need a new module?

Even with a double click? That's the default setting, to get them all to open with one click you need to change it with vagcom.

Don't matter how many times I click unlock on the fob it doesn't unlock, used to do it like you say, 1 did drivers door, 2nd did all doors

Yeh it does the ccm which controls all comfort systems including the locking, just pull it out for a minute or so then refit, it's a vag system and they can be weird. If that doesn't work I'd disconnect the battery next but hopefully that'll be enough. They just go a bit haywire occasionally.

There's a good photo description posted here forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?1015107 which is for the Golf 1V. It's the same control unit and the layout should be similar too. I've had the central locking problem for years but it does open/close the doors ok but doesn't recognise drivers door has been opened or cancel the alarm until the key is in the ignition and switched on.
Has anyone bought a replica control unit off eBay and are they any good?

Got a link to these control units on eBay? Just coving my options lol gonna do the quick cheap ones first

There are at least two sellers at the moment and both seem to be about the same price at £35. Probably better going off the best feedback rating.

Sorry, can't post links yet as per forum rules:(

Just put the item number into eBay search to get the unit.

SEAT LEON DOOR LOCK CENTERAL LOCKING ACTUATOR FRONT RIGHT BRAND NEW

Same on going problems with my seat 1.8T 20v, its an 05 plate and drivers door wasnt unlocking with the key or with the remote fob. The other three doors were unlocking though, bought a new door actuator and fitted it then the other three doors wouldnt unlock with fob but drivers door would open????
I could open the other three with internal button so though nothing more of it as my drivers door was opening again, then timing belt snapped, just got it back again and now drivers door wont open again at all and the other three doors open again, doing my skull in to say the least.
Stripped drivers door down and ended up actually having to take the back door off to remove the door lock barrell and eventually got it open, really at a loss as to whats causing this, could it be the convienence module? Thats my next step i think.

That's the worry with this control unit - making it worse rather than any better. At least at the moment all my doors open/close on the CL but alarm cancel or interior lights not recognised until the key is in the ignition. The car relocks after a couple of minutes if the key isn't in the ignition but strangely it does with the passenger door. The alarm sets when locking ok though! Almost now like knowing it's faults means just living with it. Timing belt going is worst nightmare.

Thanks for offer Lee but going to wait a bit just now. Just had major flood from blocked plenum chamber and still drying out. Just had service, tyres and starter motor so going to catch breath for a month or two.

Decided to open up my old door actuator last night before splashing out for any new parts, once i opened it up it was a complete mess in side, a lot of corrosion, it was wet and also had a bust wire aswell and no solder at all on two of the pins for the micro switch. Now im wondering if water has again got into the new door actuator and caused a repeat problem, its a mystery as i sealed the inside metal plate with a new seal after the last repair. Im going to risk putting it all back together and hope it doesnt jam again, putting a new paddle on the barrell as i found out the last one had broke so this is why key wouldnt work lol. So hopefully can get in with key next time if central locking fails to open it.

This was your replacement that's gone bad isn't it? I seem to remember a post years ago when I first started looking into what the fault was and read a post (might have been by Pabs?) and he stripped down the door to find that most of the soldered joints had gone in the actuator. He re-soldered them and it seemed to be then ok at the time. Who ever it was, he did quite a big article on it that was specific to the Leon. Water ingress is the big bug of what is a great car!

Yeah it it happend again with the new replacement actuator, it just seemed to jam in the lock position. We put it all back together and what i have done now is just leave my door barrell slighlty lose just now, if all goes well i will tighten it back up next week (providing it doesnt fall out and get lost lol). Im now having the dreaded red oil light flashing after getting a new head fitted, new water pump, pulleys and timing belt, asked my mechanic to remove the sump and check the oil pick up pipe as i think something may be blocking it. Was actually amazed that they never took sump off to check if anything had broken on the head and fell in there, he wanted to try thicker oil first to cure problem but ive opted for checking the pick up pipe 1st as this should have been checked after rebuilding the top end after the damage it received. Fingers crossed :)
