going back to basics
What is it with planning a RR day and things going wrong with the car?
My problem this time is when accelerating, at around 4.5-5000 rpm and on full boost, the car sort of bogs down and starts stuttering like its on the limiter. A few months back a suspect MAF was causing probs but after finding a split N75 hose and replacing it, cured the problem, could I be having MAF-itis again? Or does it sound more serious?

Same Problem

Hi, i have been recently having the same provlem with my 20v turbo and its so annoying, i have to drive the car and cant give it full boost other wise it bogs and stutters, its like it backfires multiple times really fast when it bogs. So far i have had the turbo blow up the day after i bought the car, then after that got fixed it started over boosting, then it was blowing boost pipes apart so i re pipes the whole intercooler kit, then it was overboosting again and now this, just seems like i am fixing the car all the time!! Lol

I dont have a clue what it could be though.
Mine has had the n75 and n249 messed with i think
Along with stage 2 map, milltek turbo back, front mount kit with hardpipes, 4 bar fuel regulater and forge splitter r DV.

I bought the car like this so dont have a clue about the mods and or if done correctly.
I also noticed it is running the forge splitter r DV aswell as the standard recirculating valve.

THat doesn't sound right. Where do you live? I would go and see Rich at dynodaze in Hinckley. THey are next to ****** and are geniusus with these engines.

I live in morley near leeds mate, so probs miles away from there lol. When it works its great but doesnt seem to take long for something else to go wrong "/
I take it to a place called Obsessive Compulsive Dub Dissorder (OCDD). He specialises in german cars only and very rarely works on an unmodified car.

car stuttering over boosting

Hi my car does the same its had the n75 and n249 played with, when I hit 3.5/4 rpm the car holds back and stutters, when this happens I can hear a valve breaking down surcharge sound could this be the n75 valve breaking down?? iv only had the car a few weeks and it was running fine but since the car started playing up it feels like its over boosting and running rich, iv replaced the MAF sensor, spark plugs, coil packs and its running better but still stuttering and holding back at 3.5/4 rpm had it on computer yesterday here is the outcome.

fault code 17840 secondary air inlet valve n112 open circuit

fault code 17695 recirc vavle for turbo n249 short circ. open circ. voltage supply to low

fault code 17968 (p1560) maximum engine speed exceeded
sporadic fault

fault code 17608 (p1200) recirculating valve for turbo charger n249 mechanical malfunction.

I take it the n75 cant cope with the boost?? am i right i need a new n75 valve??

I have a seat leon 1.8t 20v 2002

Thats doesn't sound good, it sound like mines probably going to be the same fault as mine does the same as what you described, and mine also has had the N75 & N249 messed with.
I think another reason mine could keep messing up is because it had a milltek turbo back fitted and a stage 2 map from JBS at the same time, then i think the front mount intercooler kit has been thrown on after and now possibly pulling too much air for what its mapped for. Thats just a guess tho, im no genius on these things lol.

Would anybody possibly know why mine would be running both a standard recirculating valve and a forge splitter r valve, surely it should be one or the other.

Mine is gettin on my nerves now, cant put my finger on what is wrong with it, plugged it in today and said no error codes. But its driving the same as what you guys are describing your cars are doing. Strange "/

I have fixed mine now, turns out it was a week coilpack that was failing under full boost making the engine misfire.
