Started the polishing process today, just the bonnet.

Polishing process is as follows.

3m fast cut using Indasa yellow pad, these don't breakdown as fast as the 3m green, then i prekleen the paint and after that I use the soft 3m yellow pad and yellow top ultra fine polish, the last step it's blue ultrafina on its pad, final part is to clean the panel and give it a coat of wax.

The result

While its not removed all the orange peel, it has considerably flattened the surface.

I took it a step further, I actually wet sanded the clear down removing the Orange peel effect in the paint.

The discs will remove a lot of imperfections, but not the actual finish of the paint.

I've just finished now, and the cars come out really well.

Numpty here forgot his dslr so only have a couple of pics off my phone. So hard to get any quality images really.

So in total I had.

5hrs colour sanding and trizact
10hrs machine polishing.

Quite a long process but well worth the effort.

Not worth it pal, save some one £40 of vat could open a whole world of trouble if we started doing things like that.

Our prices are competitive enough, that we don't need to do things like that.

Wow turned out well!

My armrest is black on black with perforated leather (tiny red dots) I'd actually have this done as my cloth seats mean the armrest didn't really blend well.

Is your mate local or a shop?
This could open up a few ideas e.g. door cards
