The car arrived last week and we have been using it as the family vehicle instead of the Altea to see how it copes with daily life. First impressions are great.

The car is so comfortable with lots of toys to play with too. Performance is very good and it just doesn't feel like a big car to drive.

I will keep a mini log here on the thread and answer any questions, and will do a bigger write up when the car goes back next week.

So any questions / comments please fire away.

Be interested in how effective the High Beam Assist is, often wondered if that is useful in anyway :)

Lovely colour.

Thanks. I've not had a chance to try that out yet but must make sure I try to.

I have been able to have a good go with the Lane Assist and the Active Cruise control. Two very cool features (definitely nice to haves), but for people who spend a lot of time on the motorway they would be a godsend. In particular the Active Cruise.

Hi Scott does the titanium pack not include silver mirror housings on the st? I saw an st at the dealer on Sat with the titanium alloys but no silver/ali mirrors, and they seem to be absent on "yours" too

Thanks Rob

The titanium mirror covers are present - just hard to see in the first photo.

you did not specify DSG so I assume it's a manual. would be interested in how useful you find the ACC and brake assist with the manual gearbox, in all kind of traffic.

Nice colour ;)

I think this shows why SEAT reintroduced the rear door handles. Have a look at a picture of the Honda Civic Tourer. It looks out of proportion as the boot and rear seats all flow into one.

Hi, yes manual.

Really only seeing the brake assist when in cruise on the motorway. Due to the gear ratios it's been fine and I've not really needed to change gear. I did let it slow the car right down at one point and needed to change down.

It is clever that when you hit the indicator to pull out it automatically starts to speed up even before you have turned the wheel.

Also you can change gears without the cruise switching off. Something my previous car's cruise would immediately cut out for.

The high beam assist is brilliant, I was sceptical but it works very very well and is another one of those things where you end up wondering how you lived without it, particularly in dark country lane driving

Good feedback, thanks. Sceptical myself, I've ended up with an ex-demo so not a choice I get make this time, but might be a boxed ticked on the options list next time :)

Have Seat removed the cubby hole cover from the centre console or is that an ST only thing?

I know a lot of people said it broke easily...

when I ordered my Leon FR 4 weeks ago that glidind door in the centre console was not included anymore, I had to add 'storage package' for it and and also some storage under the passenger seat (~80 euro).

I have compartments under both seats as standard. It's a trade off - order early and you get more stuff, order later and it seems you avoid a lot of the build quality issues ;-)

I think the car looks ok overall, but I am not a big fan of estate cars really.
Up to the back doors it looks great though :p

As for the cubby hole flap, I guess it's a case of if it is broke, don't fit it.
My flaps are working fine so far ;)
