Scottmf.. will do mate.

Herbie147, I know what you mean but I've got a habit leaning on an armrest while I'm driving, hence why I want one. Just not sure what this ones like, if it fits snug etc.

I like you didn't really want to splash out on £150 armrest when there are other things I would like before hand...

Keep us updated if you get one :)

Exactly! So many things I want to do to the car, and it's off to get serviced too, so I can't really justify £150+ for a genuine arm rest if it does the same thing as this one.

Hopefully someone else comes back with some feedback which pushes me to order it :D

Don't really want to shell out £150+ for an arm rest for my MK2 leon, so came across this on eBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEAT-LEON...arParts_SM&hash=item3cdd226d12#ht_2773wt_1190

Says that it fits straight into the storage/CD compartment (which I don't really need or like the look of anyway).

What do you think?

I know the original armrest is expensive but its a hundred times better than these cheaper ones you can buy I would rather save my money and buy the original one you can pick them up on ebay for £130 I couldn't live without mine now and loads of others say the same as well.

Think I paid £130 delivered for mine. As above, I can't live without it now. IMO opinion save up and get the genuine thing...

I see what you're all saying.. in an ideal world I'd go for the genuine but £130 is still alot.. stuck in two minds!

Just got this response from the ebay seller:

Dear Madam/Sir,

You do not have to make any changes to your center console to install this product.

The installation principle is easy:

1 / fixing a new upright into the storage compartment behind the handbrake (using small self piercing screws put into the empty pockets)

2 / fixing the armrest on this new upright

All hardware is provided.

Integration is perfect because this is specific to your vehicle (this is not an armrest universal type).

if you get one Goldie post back on how well it fits , it looks good for the money.

So I just spoke to someone who was selling one on Gumtree but sold it before I could get it off them. He had an FR, just like mine, I asked if it was a good fit and he said it was the best non-Seat arm rest he had and that the fit was perfect. The only reason he was selling it was because it was a bit high, not by alot but still, too high.

Looking at the picture below, I can see where hes coming from:

I had an arm rest in my Audi A4, utter waste of space and just got in the way all the time. Was left in the up position constantly.

+1

If i have a bottle in the rear cup holder it gets in my way, so a stupid arm rest would as well

These are "hot hatches", not boring old man cruising mobiles.

Lol calm down.. it's only an arm rest. Got nothing to do with being an old man or not, some people like resting their arm on something while they're driving, some don't.

Haha there is no limits to your blunt honesty is there lol

You have a point with the bottle in the cup holder but as my dad's Audi has an armrest I find myself wanting the same comfort... Nothing wrong with having a comfy arm whilst being hot in a hot hatch surely...

Each to thee own I guess :)

Couldn't live without mine bit pricey yes but worth it tbh

I had a BMW a few years back and that was £250 back then fromthe dealer and no better than the Seat one save your money and buy genuine

Right folks the arm rest your looking @ is in my leon as we speak..i put it in a month ago from that dealer on ebay..

it sat high when fitted, so i modified it to sit lower, i managed to drop it by around 2.5inchs and its now a prefect fit/height and i can still use the cup holders....

cheers

Just the feedback I was looking for.. how did you modify it mate? What did you do to it?

I've written how i modified it in one of the threads i think it was in what have you done to your car today

it does take a little time to do it but its easy to do.......i'll have look around for my write up.

How sturdy is it holmefield, for the sake of £100 I might get this instead..

If you modify it correctly its pretty sturdy, dont get me wrond you cant stick all your weight on it. But it's more than upto resting your arm on which is really only what there designed for, u can lean on it a little....the main issue is getting the height rite...believe me it WILL sit to high standard U WILL have to modify it to get the right height but it not hard to do just takes some careful cutting..I'll look for my write up today or write a new one..
