Id say straight away if you can, get an FR, much nicer trim and seats, that's me being biased as I have one. I have the 1.2tsi, pulls amazing in the low gears and is only group 12 for insurance, definitely a nippy engije and seems reliable enough if maintained.

Thanks for the feedback! I am going to be financing, and I find that obviously the FR prices are considerably higher each month, a tad over my intended budget!
I would love one but I have to think logically! The only other option is getting a used Ibiza (2011 or whatever) but unsure of good models to look out for at around 7k -7.5k! Any ideas?

I've got a Toca.
I think the FR looks better, both inside and out but I don't think the Toca is missing anything and is perfectly acceptable. The engine in the FR is better, more powerful and economical but the 1.4 16v doesn't feel particularly lacking.
It's all personal preference, the Toca offers much better value for money in my opinion which is why I went for one. That said, the FR's a step up in every way, including price.

Thanks for the feedback, think it's a case of working out which ones I can afford then test driving them!
Hopefully I strike a deal and find a model I enjoy!
Just remember that there are virtually no options on a Toca. If you go for the slightly cheaper SE you can choose, for example, cruise control for £180 which you can't get on the Toca. That's what I'd do.

Thanks! Thing is because it'll be my first car and I most likely won't buy it at the end if the finance term I'm not sure I really want things like that! I'll definitely check out the SE though!
As I understand it the Toca is an SE with bigger wheels and SEAT portable system but with no options available since that makes it a bit cheaper to manufacture. Just depends what you want. Some people like bigger wheels despite harder ride and more expensive tyres. Some people like portable system satnav etc., others prefer to choose their own satnav etc etc .....
You may still be able to choose options on a car bought on a PCP - I don't know since I always pay cash.

The Toca is a steal at the minute in my opinion (particularly if you can pay cash). It's a dated engine and obviously FR spec does take things up a level in a lot of areas, but for a first car I would have been over the moon with a Toca! There are good deals on the Mii Toca at the minute too which is a hoot to drive and also comes with the SPS etc... but will do about 15-20 more MPG than the Ibiza Toca. Depends what you will be using the car for.

They have changed all the prices since I last looked. The dealers are now offering far more discount on Toca than on SE. Now it's £1000 off the SE and >£2000 off a Toca so unless the car brokers can work some magic you're better off with a Toca.
Since they are also offering £2000 off an FR (including the tasty 1.4ACT), the SE seems to be priced out of the market at the moment!

My sister has the TOCA, while it looks abit basic compared to the FR its not a badly spec'd car and it rides well.
For a first car its not a bad choice and is cheap to run/insure.

Strange, ordered mine at the end of Feb and picked up at the start of March. I was under the impression it was standard on the Toca but presume it was old stock and had been sitting in a field for months anyway!
