I agree. The low pressure that's created over the vents should suck out the hot air. I don't think I'll be disrupting the flow underneath too much, I'll just be making the velocity of the flow higher. In theory anyway! I will do some more research before hand
 
The holes on the vent need to be facing the windscreen and need to be as close to the front as possible.
