No worries mate :)

Kenwood is a good piece of kit, but probably best fitting one if you don't have factory bluetooth.

Some decent RNS 510's for reasonable money out there.

I did have to have the car's settings adjusted via vagcom to integrate the RNS, another forum member helped me out with that.

I am unsure as to whether the Kenwood can be coded in with vagcom to aid integration with the steering wheel controls etc

True the MFD doesnt display the tracks from the Kenny 520, but the stalk controls work just fine on mine. Maybe yours had a fault or wasnt plugged in or something.

For me im not fussed about displaying tracks on the dash, I always have MFD set on car info anyway. The Kenny so far as sound (the job its there to do) is far better than the OEMs. Running an amp is also much easier but its horses for course what you want from your ICE.

Not sure what voice control is or why it matters inbuilt car bluetooth disables?

The 520 was superceded by the 521 which is still out there for fair money.

You can speak commands with the factory bluerooth Locky bud.

For example, you push the mic button on the steering wheel & the bluetooth voice says "speak a command"

You can then say such things as;

"Dial number" or "dial name" "store name" "delete name" etc

You can add all your phone book to the cars bluetooth system memory if you like, then you can dial people directly using voice control.

By saying "dial number", the car (or bluetooth voice) says "the number please?" You then speak the number & the bluetooth system dials the number using your phone.

If you have stored your phone book to the car, and say "dial name" the bluetooth voice says "the name please?". ....you say the name & it dials the contact in your phone book

Don't have to take your hands off the wheel or eyes off the road

:D

Holy mother of god..

I did not know this. I can see how if you had this facility it would be a shtter to lose it. Ive never had it, and really not a fan of making calls if I am driving anyway so for me the audio upsides far outweigh the convenience downsides.

Everything synchs up with the headunit display and stalk control be it calls, phonebook, iphone, andriod, spotify etc.

My missus generally obeys most of my voice commands, in the car at least... ;)

Yes these are good features with the factory Bluetooth.

Looking at the Kenwood DNX525DAB it's a great bit ok kit. One went on the bay for £650 brand new. Not cheap but like I say they are smart.

Decisions decisions

Not in a rush though to be honest so will mull it over for a while :)

Had a good day down Lydden today at bhp, was quite a few Leons down there. Didn't see any 'seatcupra.net' stickers on them though :(

Well spotted, that was indeed me by the yellow LCR. Didn't see your car unfortunately, looks really nice from the threads you've made about it though. Got it in the best colour for the LCR's imo

My service parts arrived from ECP, so I have fitted a new rear wiper, changed the air, pollen/cabin, fuel filter.
All very easy to change. My fuel filter was absolutely filthy and black. Glad I've changed it, just a shame I can't drive the car ha.

if your fuel was as black as mine you'll notice the car is a lot quicker after fitting a new one :) looks like mine hadn't been done in a long time.

The fuel filter was completely black. Like it was in old engine oil! Don't think it has been replaced at all or not for a very long time.

Looks good, just don't think I could live without a wiper though.

Fancy selling the wiper arm?
