Hi Guys
What size rubber should be fitted to a 2012 143CR Seat Exeo Sport tech?
Ive got myself a 2012 Seat Exeo Sport Tech which I purchased from Listers Seat a few months ago. I managed to get a good chunk off the asking price and was aware that the 2 fronts would probably only last 5kmiles before they needed changing. So last week I searched for the tyre size online using both Blackcircles and Seat websites, I entered in my registration number and on both sites out popped:-
18” 225 R40
So I purchased said sized tyres from Camskils and booked the car into my local fitter to have them replaced. When the car was on the ramp the fitter identified that the tyres that were currently fitted to the car were different size all round:-
18” 225 R45
Therefore a different size tyre wall and fitting the 40 profile tyres to the front (with 45 on the rear) could cause issues with the ESP and engine management seeing different speeds and thinking its loosing traction and thus putting it into limp mode or unwittingly wearing breaks out.
I have emailed Seat asking what is the correct size tyre for the car and wait their reply, my issue is if Seat have sold me a car with 4 x wrong size tyres on the car that are not intended for my car my insurance could be vioid. Ive a feeling they will say either 40 or 45 can be fitted as long as all 4 are the same. If not i feel a fight coming on
So guys who have a 2012 Exeo sport with 18” rubber what size tyres are fitted to your car?
Cheers
Neal
