some country's have to have it on by law so they made one switch gear that is universal for all markets

If you look at the metric speedo, the markings are much better.
On my Fabia vRS the speedo went 60, 70, 80, 100; so I set the speed warning at 90.
I have done the same with the Leon.
What about the ACC stalk, it's got to be in the wrong place., this is a function that I like but if you get it wrong by having to mess about with the controls could get you into trouble. It's the"turn" stalk that's always the one that comes to hand leaving you fumbling for the ACC stalk.

The hand book information on the CC and ACC is gobblygooch. I have read that section several times and its nothing like mine. what the hell has the "turn" stalk got to do with the ACC. Just stupid.

One of the only gripes for me is, that I would like if the Multimedia System/Nav unit could have those two options combined:
"Turn off screen after 10s"
"Show clock in stand-by mode"
When on longer journeys especially in the dark, I would like to have the screen show only the clock as it does in stand-by mode. But if I want the unit working the only option is either have the screen as it is, or have it black altogether.
I know of some other cars, which have the centre screen with such fucntions, that if it's not used, it will show only a clock, or some minimal information.
Other then that though... nothing to complain so far. The most common complaint here, which seems to be the electric window switches I haven't had a problem. That's really personal I guess and so far it's been spot on for me every time when finding the switches. Maybe it's a left/right hand thing which affects the UK cars? Or maybe my Focus Mk2 had the switches in similar locations and I'm used to it.

for me, its turning the heating controls 200 times just to go up a few degrees, and on the 2 door model when you open the door the first 'notch' that holds the door open is too narrow to get out and the 2nd notch causes me to hit the wall in my driveway, ahh still love the car though!

If you actually hold on to the knob and turn rather than just spinning it, the temp will rise or cool faster. Took me a few times to figure this out.
Tried this today , no luck. I tried turning the outer ring slowly, fast, pushing it in everything, all I can feel is a notch for each .5 degrees, am I doing it wrong?

1 notch for each .5 Degree is correct, But if you just spin the knob then it may turn 15 notches but only 5 get counted
Yup, its crap. Fed up with messing about with mine. Its v. Poor compared to other makes.

My sat-nav booted up in German one day! German!! With a map of...somewhere in Germany. I have no clue why and it hasn't done it since. Anyone else experienced this?
It took and minute to fix it, I think I had to restart the car.
Another practicality gripe. The front seat does not fold flat, it does not tip forwards very far and you cannot remove the headrest. An estate is all about space and practicality yet I can only get six-feet of load length when I could get eight in my last three cars, none of which were estates!

Yes, I've had the "you are in Germany" issue. If you look on the right side of the screen about halfway up , there is a button ( normally greyed out) that shows a car from above with an arrow pointing in wards on all four sides. Touch that and after a few seconds it should return to normal.

The sat-nav display is bright at night. I just turn over to the radio once the sat-nav is set leaving it to run in the background, the radio screen is not so bright.
Which reminds me of another gripe, the fact that you need to access menus to perform simple tasks. If you are driving at night and want to dim the lights I want a simple switch or roller on the dash, like my last cars had. Having to go through menus to do simple things like this is so annoying you tend not to bother. The computer integration has been taken too far.
I'm glad its not just me. Its bloody irritating on a long night drive. My work Passat has a thumb wheel, if its a really dark night can lower it right down. Do you find the Leon is still too bright on the lowest setting? Amazes me the number of people you see at night with a sat nav stuck to the screen on the brightest setting......
Best motor I had for night driving was a 58 C5, had a 'black panel' setting, turned all dash lights off except Speedo. Great on night journeys on unlit roads.
Another one. Foot well lights. Why the fk don't they go out when courtesy lights do? What's the point? I know what my feet look like.....
The footwell lights seen rather pointless altogether but at least you can switch them off if you want. I wish they'd spent the money on useful things like dimmer switches than gimmicks like the footwell lights.
I think it's a bit churlish to complain about the lack of LED rear indicators. Most of us got the LED lights and Nav for a fantastic price, or free!
If you go in to the settings and switch the footwell lights to OFF - they are only off when driving.
They still come on and also go off when the interior lights do.
Top man. I'll sort that out later.
Update: done it. Although no 'off' setting, just turn brightness right down and job's a good un. Cheers.

Done mine also, when you turn it right down it says off on mine.
