Hey guys.. Currently a mk2 Leon Cupra owner - running approx 350bhp. Going to look at a C280 on Thursday.. VERY excited!

However.. We all know dealers can sometimes be a little vague, so my question is, does anyone have the facility by reg to tell me the spec of the car I'm looking at? (Other than the dealer of course lol)

Or would u just advise to ask the dealer the hugeeeee list of questions I have haha. Or I could post them on here

Cheers in advance!

You could try posting the reg on here, someone may recognise it. Or list your questions on here...... :D
Given that some dealers clearly haven't got a clue I wouldn't bother with them, more likely to mislead you than owt else, iirc a few on here were told that the Cupra mode opens a valve in the exhaust (it doesn't) .....

Do they all have Led lights? Front and rear?
Zenons?
Av fuel consumption check
Tyres to check all round
Service history - last service?
Cruise control? Adaptive?
All the adaptive stuff on touch screen? (Normal, sport, Cupra etc)
Tyre pressure monitors
Front and rear parking sensors?
Auto lights? (Check switch)
Stop/start?
Winter pack? Tech pack? etc
Headlight washers?

Do they all have Led lights? Front and rear? - YES
Zenons? - NO- full LED's. Search on here, various likes & dislikes.
Av fuel consumption check - really? Oh if you must.... we average 300 to a tank, slightly smaller tank than Mk2.
Tyres to check all round - yes, they should all be round :p OEM Bridgestones not liked by many. Goodyear/ Michelin seem popular. Again, search on here.
Service history - last service? - should be every 10k unless on long life. Personally, I'd stick at 10k max.
Cruise control? Adaptive? - standard cruise, adaptive available as an option.
All the adaptive stuff on touch screen? (Normal, sport, Cupra etc) - yes
Tyre pressure monitors - yes, using ABS sensors
Front and rear parking sensors? - Yes
Auto lights? (Check switch)- Yes
Stop/start? - Yes [:@]
Winter pack? Tech pack? etc - options I believe
Headlight washers? - not standard. If no headlamp washers it appears there is no low level sensor in washer bottle. Also reports that , as LED's do not get hot, snow can obscure light on those without washers.

Other things to bear in mind -
No spare wheel fitted as standard.
Seatbelts do not adjust for height
Sat nav ( basic one) is not the best, slow and buggy.
Some ( not me) have reported major rattles.

larger 6.5 inch screen on later models seems to be worth looking for
look carefully at any pics , some 2015 models ( reg 15) still have smaller screen

good luck check everything yourself its the only way:banned:

Maybe me jumping to conclusions but would it be a fair bet to say it's an ex-demo? They usually spec them nicely so if that's the case then you should be getting yourself a nicely specced motor ;)

Yes it is a DSG model.. No mention of an ex demo, just that it has 10,000 miles and FSH. And full leather from when I looked through the window lol. It's a 14 plate so I would imagine it'll have the smaller screen?

Cheers guys! ☺️

Fair enough - leather isn't standard so that's an added bonus! Unsure of the situation with the sat nav but one of the guys at work has a 1.4 FR and says the nav is terrible - lucky the old boy has got a good sense of direction!

Ours is a 64 plate (got it December 14), honestly can't remember if upgraded nav was available at time of ordering, specified Black line pack ( didn't like grey wheels) and sound system ( told then GF it was only way to get a spare ;) )
As for DSG or manual, drove both, agree that it is impressive, but at the time couldn't justify the extra price. Not a decision I've regretted, as in the real world any differences between the two are negligible. Each to their own.
Only had one issue in 20k miles, external temp sensor failed, done under warranty.
Dislikes? OEM tyres not the best (Bridgestones) at putting power down or wear ( down to 2mm at 9k)
LED headlights - some love em, some don't. I remain to be convinced, I do not think they are as good as previous LCR's xenons , especially in heavy rain out in the sticks.
Otherwise - a great motor and a bit of a Q car :D
Oh yes, check that the correct leads are there to connect to the sound system multi pin plug, we got two, one to the original style iPod connector, and one USB one. Original VAG ones are expensive......

Cheers guys... I'm looking forward to a DSG car and as for the nav, I'll just use my phone still lol.. Just glad it has Bluetooth! It will need front tyres I think.. So I'll make sure IF I get it, that's part of the deal
As for the headlights... I'll have to wait and see, I do have Zenons now, so it'll be interesting to see the comparison!

Apologies for crashing the thread, but did you drive the DSG before going for the manual? We could only drive the DSG but went for the manual as the old boy preferred his cuurent manual to his old FR DSG so just wondering if one feels quicker than the other? Presumably the manual does because it's a more involved drive? Cheers!

Yes , drove both, DSG first. Was a great drive, can see why people like them. Changes are lightening fast, but does it feel quicker? Difficult to tell on a test drive.
Upshot was - 1. I wasn't bothered either way. 2. GF didn't want an auto and it is her daily driver 3. It was over a grand more.
Some time after I had a DSG car as a temporary replacement while my work motor was being fixed, I had It for a week and covered around a thousand miles around Scotland. Now admittedly it wasn't as powerful as the Cupra, but I found the whole experience (had adaptive cruise too) distinctly underwhelming and quite boring. I'm sure when I get old(er) and start to lose control of my faculties I will consider an auto so it leaves my left hand & foot free to do, ahem, other things but till then I'll stay manual.

Great thanks for the input! :)

Thought this might be the case - my old man has ordered a 290 and while obviously it won't be my car, I would love to give it a pedal occasionally (puppy dog eyes normally do the trick!) and thought if it were my car, at no real point would I miss paddles BUT I would miss changing gear the 'proper' way. I'm in sales at Nissan and the only thing I have to compare it to power wise is the Nismo Juke and our first demo was the auto 4WD version with paddles and while at 24, I enjoyed looking like a drug dealer with its body kit and big wheels, I soon got bored of paddles and it didn't actually feel bonkers fast despite ~220bhp under my right foot.

It could still accrue speed at a fair old rate, but when we swapped it for another branches manual for an evening, OH MY GOD I fell in love haha. Only reached 70 odd in either, mind...

theres a couple of tell tale signs of any extras on the car if you know where to look and what to look for

look below the headlights if has winter pack the headlight washer times will be there, if you get a shot inside the car near the steering wheel and auto lights are present then thats the convenience pack, if it has seat sound on the speaker thats the sound pack

is the car at SG Petch durham? if so it has a winter pack definite, if you look at the little square trims below the headlights there the headlight washers so that will be the winter pack, as the car has leather id expect heated seats, this is winter pack, as for what else it has it isn't obvious cant see enough to spot if has convenience or not

Check the rear light lenses , some have reported cracking which should be sorted under warranty.
