Hi everyone been lurking a while but time for a few questions, I have just purchased a 2015 grey seat leon fr , it had a few stone chips on bonnet and water in rear light but dealer is sorting that out and I am exited to get it hopefully tomorro or Friday, it's a stunning car and sure I will enjoy it, it had 34000 miles on the clock is there anything I should be looking for etc ? It's the 150 bhp 2l engine.

Also should I contact seat to see if any outstanding recalls etc?

And should I add something to fuel etc to clean out injectors etc will check if due service when get the logbook etc my only worry is I don't do many miles to work and back so should I give good run out once a week to clean out dpf etc

And it should still have manufacturer warranty but will it need seat servicing etc ?

Thanks dean

Any recalls would've been done by the dealer before collection.

You could add a millers additive to help keep it clean but not required, just a good blast down the dual carriageway to keep the dpf clean really.

You should check the service book before buying the car really, but dealers usually give it an oil change when you buy it and stamp the book.

If you wanna put something in it to ease your mind try Forte diesel treatment and also the turbo cleaner, very good products.

If you aren't use to cars with DPF, just look out for when a regen occurs, it will sound like your cars about to take off and engine fans will go full blast.

New rules mean you don't have to stick to seat dealers servicing for your warranty to stay valid just make sure whoever you use is VAT registered and they use OEM parts and service to manufacturer standards

Wow thanks for replys everyone , happy to say I picked car up today and very happy with it, one thing I am not happy with is once I got home relised that when they have replaced 3 of the wheels they have scratched and marked the alloys so think going to ring them tomorro and say need redone , but apart from that it's very quick and a very nice drive, love the led lights etc

I purchased from a evans halshaw dealer and they changed oil and presumably the oil filter but says no to the rest so will get other filters ordered next month and changed along with spark plugs etc and get my private reg put on etc

If I ring seat will they tell me if any outstanding recalls etc ?

The vehicle was registered may 2015 and only has one stamp in book and that's the service it has just had so will it still be warranty etc

Also what is best practice to touch up stone chips as there is one with slight rust were paint is missing should I add something before a touch up primer then paint and we're is best to buy

Thanks so much for help so far
Thanks dean

Any recalls should have been recitified before you pick it up so you shouldn't need to worry presuming its a Seat network dealer.

Also if it's a seat dealer, get them to respray the bonnet/bumper.
When I bought mine used from seat dealer they resprayed the bonnet and bumper.
Don't accept it if its got rust as that should be treated never covered up as it will just eat through metal under any repair you do.

Get them to properly sort it out and anything else before you accept the car, check the back taillights for small cracks as well as that's common too

Your car has a manufacturer warranty for 3 years from first registration

34000 in a year?? Yikes that's a lot. In the past 2 years I've had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Evans Halshaw I've had nothing but problems, I can't wait to get away from them and never ever go back

Yeah it's a lot and obviously just been a motorway car, it may have had services done but not marked in book maybe just registered online etc but got done before I picked it up,

Also I have already picked the car up and got a great deal on it, the stone chips have been touched up but suppose could see if will respray the bonnet , need 2 alloys done as they have marked them replacing the tyres , it's a evens halshaw Citroën I purchased the vehicle from and the outer o/s light was full of water so had that replaced before collected. Might ring seat to make sure no recalls

Thanks dean

Oh yeah EH were great selling me my car it's just everything after that's been the issue, just dodgy personal dealings with the service centre I guess although I took it in as my brakes were squeaking, they told me they needed replacing for £300+ so I took it to another garage to get a second opinion they said "why are we looking at them they're fine" I guess you just have to tread carefully when it comes to chargeable repairs

I got my LCR MK1 form Evans Halshaw, got stung on finance (my fault for not checking small print), got delivered, 1st drive out, gear box pretty much fell out the car, it got collected for it not to be seen for 2 weeks, did leave me with a nissan micra though lol

Yeah I think it has been a lease car but suppose that means anything that was needed has been sorted seems fine and I just had a good look and may have egsadurate on stone chips there was only 2-5 and they weren't rusty as I have noticed one they missed and it's the primer underneath you can see not rust, my bad, will just fill and give whole car a good detail next week when off work.

Still going to ring about alloys and ring seat to see if any recalls needed. Then going to order all the rest of filters and do when at work one day.

Goes like stink though the car , really happy with it, just looked at the remaining back lights and no signs of cracks etc

I guess if you're happy with the car is all that matters now, just avoid using EH as much as possible is my advice and always get a second opinion on any work they try charge you for, think that goes without saying though
