Hi dudes, just wondering how many of you have named your pride & joy? If so I'd love to hear them. 3 SEATs to date & all named. Ibiza - NAM (Number plate) Leon S - LeRoy, Leon Cupra - BadBoy. All boyz in our family! ;)

Funny that because my "better half" as I'm told daily, calls my car the same thing.
I Call it "the van" to explain the lack plastic In there

All my cars have been named and all have been girls, except for Eddie (van) Halen which was named by the other half whose Rascal it was.

I've had:
Sherrie the Sherman tank
Annie the animal
Tess
Ginny
Katharine
Peggy Blue
a temporary heap of poo whose name I don't remember
Daisy Diesel
Claudia the Accordia
Black Bess who was in fact red
Juliet though always called Pugpug
Rosie Rover
and now we're on Maria though she only ever gets called Good Girl.
My forum user names are always the car's name and not mine!

That reminded me of this:

Never named a car but I do tend to keep them for a while and have occasionally suffered some separation anxiety when the time has come to say goodbye.

Lol, I am impressed! Nice to know i'm not the only nut who gets rather fond of it's wheels. As for the 'Start you piece of Sh8', I think that echos the country every morning, especially for us Mk 1's! :)

I have also named other cars, and seeing your List Maria has brought back a few memories. I had a 'Tank' too. It was a f ing heap and it was so heavy i used to do 360's just by giving a sharp handbrake. Another unoriginal name from me was 'Volcov' the volkswagon, that was a good Passat. My consecutive Passat however was a 'she' and she just gave me nothing but grief. I swear it was because she didn't like the way i treated her, broke my bank too. (Rather unpleasant names for her in the end! :)

I was once told by a Mk2 Jag owner, "If it's got t*ts or wheels it's gonna be trouble ..." and that stuck :)
What was your tank? Mine was a sandglow beige Morris Marina 1.3 estate! Points, SU carb, kingpins ...

I'm embarrassed to say, but a Renault Laguna 1.9 Diesel. It was as sh8 as it sounds. In my defense my car was written off so a dodgy bloke from my works flogged it to me for a quick fix. The Mrs & I used to give it a good kicking because it really was built like a tank & drove like one. Luckily my boss gave me my work car (out of sympathy). I wanted to smash the sh8 out of the tank at my local quarry but fortunately another dodgy bloke from the works bought for double price, & was thrilled! (They sniff a lot of glue) :D
