I can't say for sure that it wouldn't be OK putting the wrong one in - but I'd always go with what it says in your book. I'm pretty sure it's 5w30 VW504/507 spec for the PD170.
If you were in a pinch and your engine was out of oil, wrong oil surely is better than no oil, but you can pick up a 1L bottle of oil for under a tenner in most places - plenty for a top up.

Yea just my local town doesn't have any 5w-30 in 2 different petrol stations and a local car shop and nearest halfords/euro car parts etc is about 20 miles away so was wondering if either these ok that's all bud

You need a 504 00/507 00 oil for a diesel with DPF. It is worth checking your handbook because from memory there is an allowance for using other specifications of oil for top-up "in case you can not find the right specification", but check before committing to this.
Most 504 00/507 00 oils are 5W-30, there are a couple of 0W-30 ones out there but pretty rare.
