Has anyone had any problems with their heating? I have a mk3 leon 1.6tdi 2013. About 2 weeks ago I started having problems with the heating not working. The fans work but there's no heat. I have 3 months left on second hand dealers warranty and am looking any advice if anyone has had any issues like this before.
Thanks any tips would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
When you tuen up the temperature from the air conditioning control jog, do you hear any electrical flappers turn behind the dashboard?

Did you try to play with the airflow direction?

I've twisted everything up at the front window. Down at the floor and through the main vents. Everything works I can hear the vents opening but there's no heat. I just get cold air. All 6 setting work for air speed. Air conditioning works aswell.
When it started I was getting a little bit of heat but now there's nothing but cold air.
Thanks for your reply

Thanks. I took it to dealer yesterday and they couldn't figure anything out. They told me to take it to SEAT and see if they could figure out what was wrong then take it back and get it fixed on warranty. This means I'm going to have to spend money on diagnostic anyway.

I took a look at the other thread looks like a similar problem. I will let them know tomorrow thanks for your help yanivkoval

When I was up with the dealers yesterday they told me that my warranty doesn't cover diagnosis its just parts and labour for fixing it.

To be fully hones with you, this scheme of warranty sound not fair at least. Don’t you think so?

Yeah I know. The guy I was dealing with obviously thinks I don't know much about cars. He kept trying to throw me off with 'technical' stuff but it didn't work. All he was telling me was stuff I already knew. To me it just seems like they don't want to spend time trying to fix my problem. He told me that I don't have long left on my warranty but there's more than enough time left on it for this to be fixed and all

Andrew,
good luck with the heating issue.
Please return here and tell us what was the problem and the solution :)

I gather diesel cars only produce heat after a while so if it's not that then it's a fault. In which case the dealer you bought from is the one responsible for fixing it (in English law).

Before going elsewhere I'd make them aware of your rights and that fixing it will be at their cost. They won't like it / will be awkward / etc but if you can be bothered then you can always claim any reasonable costs via a Court Claim (it'll likely get put in the Small Claims Track). Putting in writing what you want and warning of this would be wise before going elsewhere as you then have a great paper audit trail - which judges love.

Hi cupra14 thanks for response, the dealer told me that they are happy to carry out the work under warranty but my warranty doesn't cover for diagnostic. Only for parts and labour for repair. I would have to know exactly what is wrong with the car before bringing it to them and tell them to replace parts at fault.

When I was with them they had a quick look (1hr30mins) to see if they could see anything. Told me at all pipes are hot as they should be and that they would not charge me for looking at the car. They advised going to main dealer as they would have systems designed for the car that might be able to pick up different faults.
As of yet I have not phoned anywhere but will be on Monday to see if there's a common fault that they know of.

What was strange was when I got the car back off them I was getting more warm air through the vents than what I had been then the next day was back to normal again. I opened up the bonnet with a warm engine and squeezed the coolant pipes to see if it would do anything. I did get a bit of heat for an hour maybe then nothing after that so maybe it's blocked pipes?
