Hi markrtw,

That is excellent news. Was the issues you had similar to what I have described through out the thread?

Balancing would make sense to some degree as others in who have had similar issues have occurred after hitting a pot hole. Just not sure if my issue is the same. I do not have any wobble of steering which usually is a sign of bad balancing.

Hi, yes my issues read the same as yours and I had no wobble in the steering. That's why I suspected it was something rather more serious. Maybe it's the softer damper setting in comfort mode with the stiffer cupra springs is just very sensitive to slight anomalies in balance allowing the suspension to oscilate at certain speeds? It's certainly worth 20 mins of your time to get the balance checked out, then you can at least rule it out.

The one thing I have learnt from all this is to be ultra cautious on the roads around Bicester! They are some of the most shocking of the area and that's saying something!

Ah yes, you from Bicester, I'm not far from bicester? Where did you take car to get wheels balanced?

No, I'm in Brackley. I just have the joy of occasional visits to Bicester for things in relation to the kids. I had Tyre Warehouse here in brackley balance the wheels. They are a good independent I've used for a few years that know what they are doing. They were doing a full geometry setup on a 911 in another bay while they were sorting mine out.

Unfortunately it hasn't resolved the issue. So I think the physical struts/shocks are the next to replace annoyingly!

Sorry to hear your news. When I was in TPS Milton Keynes they advised £180+vat each for the front shocks. Were the wheels out of balance at all?

Still have this issue unfortunately. Literally lost with what it could be. I have had an independent and SEAT take a look neither could find the problem even though both admitting it didn't feel right.

Was really hoping there might be an owner in Birmingham or Oxfordshire which we could meet up and for someone else who owns a cupra to give there opinion.

I'm struggling to see how this could be anything other than the dampers. Unless the tyres are made of cheese.

Well I got given some dampers for free from a member on here and they didn't resolve the issue. Also the dampers that came off the car looked okay with no leaks

Forgive my ignorance. Would a knackered damper cause an error code?

And I also thought a replacement would be more than £216 seeing as they're DCC
