Sat- Nav Map Updates ?

Bought a 2016 plate Ibiza FR 1.2 and it has sat-nav. My last car I had to update the maps myself (free online if you know where to look ) or expensive vial dealer but the salesman said he thinks with my car still being under warranty it might get free updates

Anyone shed light on this ?

It doesn't. He clearly hasn't got a clue

check out https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/navigation-system-updates.388586/ just make sure you have a MIB2 unit.

Lots of reading but you can update your maps this way.

SEAT don't offer mapcare in the UK. Across Europe you specify it as an option and map updates are free from then on.
SEAT UK are awkward and want to charge premium prices for every upgrade.
I just don't bother updating it, apart from adding camera databases.
