Got the screens from their UK Site Documentation incase anyone wants to push the CS/Dealership with the information

Spoken to the Dealer yesterday and the specs in the brochure are correct

So anyone effected keep pushing for them to be retrofitted or a replacement car ordered.

Was told by the dealer it'd be around 14 weeks for a new one to be built though -.-

Told them to go ahead with the retrofitting but still waiting on a call back from Seat UK on this again

I gave SEAT UK my chassis number and they confirmed they should be fitted. They have referred me to my supplying dealer, but as mine is a private lease through a broker I have to take it up with them first. As much as I'd like to push for a retro fit or a replacement car, I don't think that's practical in my circumstances.

SEAT isn't the only one affected by this, my cousin works for a main VW dealership and they have had a batch of new Golf's with the same problem. VW are currently offering £300, don't know how true this info is, but he says VW techinical have told them a retrofit requires a steering column change and a ECU update, that may be why the VW group are not keen on a retrofit, cost?

But @Kjimi had mentioned it was just a swap over not even any coding needing to be done.

Hopefully it's the case for that rather than steering column, but either way if it's not done correctly or working correctly I'll just reject it after that -.- .

We were only offered £200 then £250 when pushed.

**Bigger Update**

Spoke with the Manager at the Dealership who I've had good dealings with in the past and he's put my mind at ease about a lot of things.

#1 They have an effected Leon without Paddles at the dealer and one with them correctly fitted.
They are going to remove them from the Working Model and "Test Retro-Fit" them on an Effected Leon today with the Master Workshop Engineer.

I should hear back today the Components used aswell as the cost to the Dealer/SeatUK and if all functionality works correctly etc .

He is certain its possible but because of the distance for me to come wants to make 100% sure there's no hiccups or missing functionality.

#2 The manager has also stated that once this has been done today/latest tomorrow that it'll all be forwarded across to SEAT UK along with the bill that they are "Yet" to help the dealer contribute too.

He's informed me that even if SEAT UK don't help towards the retrofitting costs the dealer will cover this as he knows I've been a loyal customer with them and every Seat i've ever purchased has gone through them and ultimately they have still had a sale for the car and feel responsible to get it resolved for me.

So really happy with that response and do hope it happens like this, should hear later today/tomorrow regarding progress of the swap between cars, so once I know this I'll post as it may help others effected with informing Seat UK and their own Dealers with what needs to be replaced Exactly.

Forgot to mention it was confirmed that going forward the cars should have paddles on all DSG Models FR Upwards

Could it be, it's one less thing to affect WLTP? Eg...all the autos 1.0TSI, 1.5TSI, and 2.0TSI will have paddles, end off?

I was wondering why it may be necessary to change the column. Having looked at the workshop manual files and wiring diagram I could only surmise it was something to do with the ECU, but obviously that's not the case. It'll be interesting to see what vmark89's dealer comes up with.

**Update** 02/11/2018

Hey guys had a call from the Dealer to say the swap over on their own cars was done yesterday and worked successfully with everything working perfectly .

They have the list of parts which is literally:

- Steering Wheel
- Paddles (as these are ordered Separate)

Paddles have been ordered and should be in on Monday, Steering Wheel has been ordered too However It is currently on back order as they have to be ordered directly from the Factory.

ETA on the Wheel arriving should find out on Monday, Fitting should only take a day or so I was informed.

Seat UK had agreed to take the cost alongside the Dealer and this was sent across to them via the Dealer.

So if anyone is having an Issue with Seat UK refusing or still offering just a Runners Up Prize then feel free to let them know about them agreeing to do the work with another effected person.

My Dealership is Crewe Seat, Manager was changed over Mid Process of this and since then He's been fantastic at calling back when they've suggested they will and forcing it along with Seat UK, so a massive thanks to him for the work and chasing he's been putting in!

Being told by family to speak to Seat UK again and request a goodwill gesture for the messing around and chasing with a brand new car, the fact it wasn't initially going to be retrofitted only after we've pushed and pushed, and for the fact the dealer is taking part of the cost, but not sure whether I should on this, what are your thoughts?

Exactly mate! Thought I'd post it all up as I want as many people effected aware and informed of it as I'm thinking Seat UK would just push back, but with my info and Dealer info they should be able to look into it

Sorry to take so long to reply. It sounds like in your situation you have more than a simple rejection of goods to deal with in getting rid of this car...
As for the right of SEAT having the right to change specification and for the CUSTOMER to check the latest information, it is for the retailer (i.e. dealer) to inform the customer of what the specification/ features they will be supplying to the customer at the time of ordering.
For some reason, car dealerships and manufacturers seem to think that their products should be treated differently from other goods when it comes to the 2015 Consumer Rights Act. Perhaps they may have more to loose in terms of ££s when a purchase goes wrong.

Thanks mate! I have said to the Dealer I want it in writing that the fix is being carried out as now both the Dealer and Seat UK are unable to get an ETA on the wheel coming to the UK -.- , feels like progress is made then just halts.

Going to give them until End of Play Thursday and the Contact them again as it will have been nearly a week with no further update from them on the progress and also call Seat UK for a Goodwill gesture due to the chasing, messing around and having to push to even have gotten it corrected.

Just don't want this to be a never ending ETA or me continuously having to chase them regards this.

Not as far as I'm aware mate, the top dog at the Dealer admitted that the issue with this was that the specifications sheet at the factory hadn't been updated and this is what caused those specific weeks to not be built correctly.

But it could be now that they are on back order for replacing the ones that are now effected because of this

Ahh gutting mate keep chasing them don't give them any rest, I had to at first till I got through to the Manager I've dealt with before but keep at them!

In case you haven't yet done this: write an actual letter and mail it at a post office getting a Certificate of Posting (they're free). That provides a real audit trail in case it gets nasty.

An alternative is an email but you need to make sure to get a reply or else there's no proof they got it.

Thanks. Most of the contact with the dealer has been by email. I work nights so not normally able to ring during the day. They had been replying, but not for the last week or so.

Have you had anything back off them yet mate really is annoying, happy to take your money but not even give a simple message back
