Lease servicing.

Im going to use Seat because they have a servicing deal. Works out at £324 for 2 services, rather than the £498 if you pay at the time. The advantage of Seat service is they also update software and do recalls for you, which independents wont.

Same here. I don't trust the dealer or think they are worth what they charge, but possibly having to prove an independent service met the warranty criteria is a PITA.

I've sent an email to Arval asking what their servicing recommendations are. I'll post up when I get a reply.

I've just signed up to the monthlies deal from SEAT for servicing, as my car says '13000 miles until oil', and '19000 miles' for main one. So you can bet your top dollar it will need two servicing 'points'.

Yeah the servicing info on my car says about the same, thinking about the SEAT monthly servicing also. Saving about £150 over paying for the 2 services separately! Don't think it would be much cheaper going through an independent!

Thus on a 2 year @ 8k per year deal, I should only need the 1 service which is likely to need doing around 15/16 months in?

Same terms as you, mine is telling me it's due a service now at ten months old (well its been telling me for a few weeks now)

Got this reply from Arval in regards to servicing:

Good afternoon Adam,

Thank you for your email.

Since you have opted for a customer maintained contract, you do not have to use a main dealer for any repair/servicing work if you do not wish to. You can use any garage providing they are VAT registered.

We do not hold any service recommendations on our system, again due to the fact you are customer maintained. Therefore, we would advise that you speak with the manufacturer to check what intervals you should be getting the services to avoid invalidating your warranty.

Wouldn’t say thats out of the ordinary. My first oil change was at 7k.

Oh! Mine (just bought) is 10k miles, 14 months, and is saying another 300-odd days to its 1st service. Just seems out of kilter with your experience!

Its purely based on driving style and journey type. I do alot of short journeys (commute is 3 miles each way).

The ECU alligns the interval times to suit.
