You have a very strange insurance regime in the UK. When we claim, the repair is done - no questions. If the other party is identified and at fault you don't lose the excess. If they aren't insured the company squeezes them until their pips pop.
There is no waiting for the other party to admit fault or pay anything.

It works the same way here too.
It's the just the route I took.

SEAT ensurance are a claims management company. It's a free "benefit" when you purchase a SEAT in the UK.

They work with both insurers, guarantee your repairs with genuine parts/warranty and put you in a like for hire car at the 3rd party's expense.

They get the authorization up front from the 3rd party so that there is no excess to pay.

My issue was that the 3rd party wasn't in a hurry to authorize. If I'd have paid my excess it would have been repaired sooner.

Unfortunately this is the second time I've had to use the service in 3 years. Fortunately though each time the courtesy car has been better than my own.

So had a call from JCT and the police have finally paid for the work so I can collect my car today.

Nearly 3 months to get my car sorted in all.

Unfortunately that means I'll be handing back the R.

It'll be interesting to see how I find the Cupra now.
Although i thought the R was the better car to drive I did miss the looks and the sound system on the SEAT.

It has the Beats Audio sound upgrade. The Golf has the standard sound system.

Oh thats cool i didn't think you could get that now..im guessing you got your car a while ago.

My car was a delayed MY18.
I originally ordered a MY18 Cupra 300 with loads of options inc SEAT Sound. It got seriously delayed. It turned up in January 2019.

Ended up with a MY19 Cupra with all my MY18 options. Beats Audio was a replacement for seat sound.

Haha, not quite.

Definitely prefer the golf, but I'm still happy with the Cupra. It was absolute bargin for the money.

It'll definitely be on the list come 2021 though.

What did you prefer about the golf? Having now seen a Golf R Estate in the flesh I personally think my ST looks miles better. Front splitter looks good, welcome top the club

Initially it was just 4 motion and the deeper exhaust note.

Then there were lots of little interior touches
which added up to a more premium feeling cabin.

That said I do prefer the layout and design cues in the SEATs interior.

Exterior looks wise the SEAT takes it easily in 5DR hatch and estate form.

Yeah I think I was more interested in the splitter than the repair work .
