Maybe the beep is only present when you having parking sensors.

Well then could also be the switch on the gearbox?!

Its just one of them that doesnt work or both?

yes, dont all of them have?

BTW: the switch Im talking about is in the front of the gearbox. and its one of the more common causes for the reverse light stop working.
if you cannot find physical evidence in the bulbs or fuses you may wanna check that.

EDIT: I see now that RUM4MO already mentioned that.

I don't believe so. Seems to be some do and others don't.
(that's my sisters ibiza ) my moms does the same. And if u read back through this thread I have dismantled the light clusters (see pics) and there is no place for a bulb on that side. If the reverse switch was bad wuldnt it knock out both reverse lights?

yes, that's why I asked, but if you only have one it's of no use.

Hey guy's so thought would post a final update. My mom took back to MOT council test centre and it was a pass. The tester who did it must of done research b4 hand and as he said he would look but min said it was to fast to dismantle the light fixtures and seemed a little of the top in niceness possibly feeling guilty. We don't really blame him / them everyone makes mistakes just annoying to go back for them to not really check just should of agreed with proof over phone or asked to email proof as mom had to leave work early. But anyways all is done. Lesson learnt if you fail still double check your stuff. As I do worry if I wasn't around if this still happened to my mom what nd less tabiit holes could she have gone down. Thanks again for help guys appreciate.

So, just to clear things up finally, that car did have a single reversing light working, but the MOT tester failed it as he had expected there to be two working reversing lights on that model of car?
Council MOT centers are normally okay for testing.

That is exactly correct. Was a little surprised as my mom and myself have taken our car there for years now about 3 -4. And it wasn't some new.young lad out of training. He's been there awhile but they seem a little up and down off late. I have a friend who covers there from.time to time. My front seat on passenger side doesn't fold forward. I called up they said it was a fail and then my friend said he spoke with two testers and it's an advise and pass. So a bit over the place at moment . But indo recommend them to people thougj
