I noticed these five holes in the glove box lid. I've looked in numerous online parts catalogues but can't see what might be fixed here. Does anyone know?

Comes back to an electrical connector on Google but I see what you mean from the image you found. It's pretty pants isn't - not even lined to stop the glasses being scratched knowing SEAT.

Yes, it's the glasses holder, I picked one up from ebay about a year ago from someone breaking a Polo.

Looks like the part number is
6R0857465A

Why oh why could SEAT not have engineered a sun glasses holder into the overhead light/movement sensor housing area? That small housing/holder in the Polo is only useful for charging leads etc - I ended up retro fitting a previous Golf sunglasses holder in place of the driver's side grab handle - no option like that in Leon!
Actually how many people want to need to reach across to the glovebox to grab their sunglasses if/when the sun choices to appear?

When my wife first bought her 2015 Polo new, one of the first things I went to ask about at the parts desk was "sunglasses holder" - the young switched on parts guy suggested that the Golf, probably MK7 one would fit - not a chance as the centre lights console was slightly wider, I can't say that looking at my daughter's new Leon centre light console gives me any better clues for where/how to get one fitted to the MK3 Leon unfortunately - so far, but I'm willing to get proved wrong!

I checked the width of my Oakleys against the Leon centre light console width and it might be possible - just.
It's not so much the width as the depth when the glasses are folded, especially with wrap around glasses. My previous 2 pairs of Oakleys and my new pair of RayBans wouldn't fit.

My RayBans both fit well - yours must be huge, since I have 2 different models that fit :)
The material is not padded but it is a slightly softer rubber, so it holds the glasses and doesn't scratch them.

Okay brill.
Where can I get one. None on Ebay. Will a dealer order one for me?
Prices are from the EU and all about £30 to £40 !!

10 times out of 10, buying new genuine parts from a VW Group dealership will be cheaper than buying same parts from an individual via ebay, maybe even find a VW Group dealership operating online - like either of the two on this site.
