Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone works for Seat that could help me out. I have agreed a deal on a 2014 seat Leon and am due to pick it up tomorrow. The car was advertised as having full SEAT service history, but the seller has advised me that he can't find it. I believe him, but there is a difference between believing someone and having proof!
The car was imported into Ireland in Jan 2019 and I have no contacts within SEAT UK... I'm hoping someoneight be able to help out and verify tha car has service history and if possible send me a copy... The car looks good and I don't really wa t to pull out of the deal, but a car with no service history isn't really the same prospect.
Thanks in advance!

Hmm, we usually just use them for supplying parts, etc. But I wonder if you posted your request in the Horton forum section (they are a Seat dealership) if it's something they can help you with. Not 100% sure, but worth an ask.

I had the same thing with a Mazda a few years ago. Had a call from the seller saying he couldn’t find the service history so I said I didn’t want it then unless Mazda could verify it. ( it was advertised with full Mazda history)
I called into my local dealer who checked it there and then and printed off the service history for me so I went ahead and bought the car.
Mazda service history wasn’t stamped in a book even back then so it was the same print out I got that would have been with the car.
Sure a Seat dealer could check for you.
Good luck.

Thanks. unfortunately, I'm in Ireland and the systems aren't linked meaning Irish dealers can't access UK history. i've done similar in the past, but in this case it's not an option. I have managed to get SEAT UK to confirm a few dates and mileage over the phone which is enough to go ahead with it - new car thread tomorrow!

I hope you didn't pay full price

a car with no service history is worth around 60% of full retail value
I got a deal I'm happy with. SEAT UK were able to confirm the car was serviced by them and gave me some dates/mileages. The car is likely to be in my care for several years, and the plan then is that it will become my wife's car. It's likely to be in my household for about 5 years so it will be ten years old by the time I'm selling it. The early service history will be less important than the records I will keep and to be honest I'm as happy buying a car that needs work done - I got the timing belt and water pump done myself along with a few other bits and pieces so now I know they are done right!
