Looking at doing a few simple mods, I want the calipers and alloys doing eventually and also the exhaust tips.

Iv seen a few videos where people just clip them on over the stock whilst other have to cut off their current exhaust and clamp on the new ones. I have a 2016 FR 1.4 if this helps answer my question for can I just buy a pair that slot on ?

Pictures attached

cheers

What sort of exhaust tips do you want?

if you just want shiny ones why not just buy some autosol and polish the original ones. OE looks best IMO

The issue you’ll have is putting these tips over your current ones will only be possible for one side, as the gap in the middle won’t be enough to fit both of them over if that makes sense.

As above give them a polish up and see the results. :)

Will do cheers, I’ll just wait until spring.
If it was me, my car OCD wouldn’t let me wait until the spring to clean them up! :D.

I’d do them now rather than wait until spring. Leaving them another 3 months or so to accumulate winter grime and road salt deposits, the chrome plating may become pitted beyond the point of no return around the exhaust opening.

A little elbow grease and a little time spent cleaning them up now would be time well spent IMO.

I had both my Ibiza and now Volvo V40 from new (so both dual / twin exhausts were clean and sparkly to start). Everytime I fill up the car or go to the carwash (they don't wash the exhausts). I just spray some water with mild detergent on them, use the 'scouring' side of a small sponge to wash them, rinse them with water, and dry off with microfibre, shiny like new! The washing of exhaust tips only take max 2 mins. But don't do them after you have driven...as they are hot, and whatever water you spray on, will just evaporate and leave a mark..oops...
There after when you approach the car from the rear at night, if you see something glimmering, they are your exhausts!

As said already, the exhaust in the pictures has been designed to exist only as it is shown, so polishing the ends will be the only way - or some how spray them satin black. I'd expect that most if not all genuine Milltek end trims are designed to fit only Milltek exhausts - and these Mlltek exhausts come with short tail pipes so that when the final tips are fitted, they finish at the correct point relative to the exit point in the rear bumper.

Failing that, you will be looking at fitting a Milltek etc rear box, which will cost a bit.
