Holiday confirmed as cancelled last night, for the best really but was looking forward to some better weather and flogging the hire car to death on Madeira’s hills for week. Weather forecast here is crap going out for blast seems unlikely too, it’ll be the pub then, assuming they’re still open.[:@]

Annoying isn't it?!? I went out for food yday, the bar staff were telling me they were verging on losing their jobs and closing due to lack of business. Apparently it was a case of "if you want to keep your job, use as much of your holiday now". Funny part is, I was in Tesco afterwards and it was rammed, same as all the other supermarkets. And I'm thinking, you know everyone has touched that basket / trolley handle right? So avoiding "public" places like pubs, etc isn't doing anything for those scared of germs.

I despair. Was watching the news about the countries in lock down. The only times you can leave your house are to go to: work, school, post office, walk the dog, supermarket. Errr, so everywhere I usually go and still end up getting colds, flus, stomach bugs, etc!? Case in point, I work in a small office and one guy has "flu like symptoms". But he's such a hero he's gotta come to work to impress the managers.

I'm "non-essential" to our operation and was sent home to work - I've been more "essential" in the last 5 days than the previous 17 months !!
Funny how priorities change in a crisis.........

They need to do that at petrol pumps too if they want to stop it!

We've just had the company speech of "I know some of you are worried, but we might get through this". Err, I wasn't worried in the slightest till he stood up and said that.

We're working from home alternate weeks now. Subtext seems to be "we don't trust you to work if we're not keeping an eye on you". Went down like a lead balloon!

Same subtext, different message. They have to hear from us every 3 hours. Even if it's just to say "it's 3 hours".

Sorry to hear that. Definitely better you staying away from people as much as possible.

Been sent home for three weeks today. Working from home. Had to go out and buy myself some extra IT kit to allow me to continue as normal.

My girlfriends company is keeping people in the office as long as possible. They don't seem to have any plan to send people home...

Fucks me off since there are people in her office that are visibly ill but wont go home because they won't get paid and can't afford their rent.

Glad you are keeping safe at home. My friend had to keep away from everything when undergoing treatment & this shitty virus needs to be kept away from all vulnerable people. Hope you have family looking after y'all. Stay safe. We've just stacked up on tins & alcohol. Going to have a fk covid party on Saturday. No one is invited, but we are going to drink & party at home :)

Sounds like you have a plan there. We’ve got no hospital appointments for three weeks so apart from picking up food etc I don’t think we will be leaving the house anytime soon.

Thanks for your concern

I was concerned about not being able to attend any meets this year but now it seems there may not be any more anyways so in a way I won’t be missing out

It means I won’t be able to pass out any sausage though

Least you're not being made redundant like me! All our clients have cancelled their own business dealings so my company is feeling the hit badly. Looks like work on the car will have to halt :(

We went out for a drive today, quiet roads and the walk along the waterfront was 'bracing', only window shopping allowed, gave me an appetite though, chilli was hot enough to kill any germs I reckon.

We have people at work that have literally taken their desktop computers/phones home - then phoned up literally screaming down the phone that they dont work - people scare me with their intelligence sometimes.
Fortunately I'm a too far removed from that , right off to buy some loo rolls, pasta and more coffee
