Boot struts 1.4 FR

I've noticed my boot doesn't slowly open all the way up now and stops half way.

Does anybody know of any aftermarket gas struts that are good to fit?

If not shall i just replace with OEM ones?

Buy these and you can then pop the boot with the boot unlock and it will spring open

Mine was sluggish in summer! So I replaced them with the ones above

Now the wife has to swing off the boot lid to close it

It is for me! I don't belt my head on the boot anymore!

Plus one button opening makes life a little easier

They are certainly stronger but not impossible to close the boot!

You can but it doesn't make them any better. The problem is that in cold weather the gas inside the strut contracts, so you effectively have less gas so lower pressure. It happens on all cars.

During the filming of the car park scene in 'Back To The Future', the door of the Delorean kept slowly dropping in the background of the shot. Cold night. They had to prop the door open.
