Argh, really sorry to hear that... and I hope you get a resolution sooner rather than later. My car (V2 1.5 DSG) has been in with the dealer for over 2 weeks, had issues from day 1 with the screen, software (phone not working, radio breaking up screen freezes, air conditioning just coming on even the AC system is switch off etc). Took 17 days waiting to get an appointment at the dealer. Mine needs a new screen, software updates etc and no screens are available and are on back order, no idea when the car will be available etc. Spoken to Cupra customer services and they are terrible, they can tell me nothing and appear not to be interested in offering any help at all.
I hope that nobody else is going through my issues, if so, good luck as I think you will need it.
I think the parts that are involved are actually VW-wide also - might be in a slightly different housing, but the actual screen and tech behind etc. is certainly not limited to SEAT/Cupra.... I imagine that VW/Audi/Skoda etc. owners are facing similar problems. Thanks, my dealer is not bad, but Cupra customer services are terrible.
According to my dealer there are different manufactures of the screens and they had to take mine off to find the manufacture and part number etc and nothing was in the unit. They have had to send photo's etc to Cupra Technical for them to advise what parts to order. They ordered the part I believe on Tuesday last week, spoken to Cupra customer services on Friday afternoon and they could not even confirm that the part had been ordered, cannot advise when the part would arrive and when the part would be fitted and I will get my car back.
My dealer has been fine, they have lent me an manual Ateca (SE) to use in the meantime but it is not what I bought.
I suppose in hindsight Cupra should not release the vehicle if the systems do not work especially when you look at how many people are effected.
Do you get some sort of crackling/popping noises when pressing the power button? If so, it likely needs to be replaced. The last couple of days, I’ve had some random popping noises from the infotainment; also today, the emergency call SOS message flashed up. I ignored it, and next time I started the car, it had gone away.
By power button, are you referring to the engine start/stop button on the wheel or the on/off touch button for the infotainment?Do you get some sort of crackling/popping noises when pressing the power button? If so, it likely needs to be replaced.
On/off button for infotainment.By power button, are you referring to the engine start/stop button on the wheel or the on/off touch button for the infotainment?
Gotcha! Will keep an eye (ear?!) out for that.On/off button for infotainment.
Mine crackles a bit when I turn it off, and the dealer said it was an indicatorGotcha! Will keep an eye (ear?!) out for that.
I started to hear an intermittent clicking noise the other day while on the motorway, appeared to be coming from the drivers area but couldn’t locate it. It continued even with speaker volume set to 0 (if that makes any difference, were it the speakers?).
Separately, on one occasion there was a fairly loud pop from the speakers - a bit disconcerting, sounded like something had hit the car.
I've had my VZ2 for 3 weeks and I also get a loud double pop from the speakers, interesting from the left side only though and only on longer journeys.
The most frustrating message is 'updated your settings' or the constant logouts resetting the temperature to 22.
Most worryingly is when I was at a roundabout the other day and just as I hit the accelerator the engine wouldn't restart and I had to sit there until the infotainment had finished logging me out.
