Just don’t do what I’ve done mate and ruin the car for the road mine horrible to drive on the road I really don’t enjoy it since I fitted the revo mounts. It’ll be great on track I can tell but awful as a road car. My hearts not in it with this car anymore doesn’t seem reasonable to have spent so much money on a £700 car. I could have brought a real clean k1 the amount of money I’ve spent in parts for my mk2

No I bloody missed that one lol. Im not going to make mine too mental for the road as thats what ill mainly use mine on. I will just fit coilovers and polybush when needed and stick some anti roll bars id heard engine mounts can be too much for the road. You would get more for yours if you broke it.

Be sad to see you give up on it but id be intetested in bits if you did.

I did think about a K1 but not really a massive difference other than the rarity and interior and the bodykit. I love mine and its only on 60k so will do the bits I want and then just keep it mint. You could buy a K1 and still end up having to spend **** loads. Once ive had the bits done in August small cooling fan and the last of the bits that came up from the AMD service.

Only difference with a k1 is purely the body kit

That's mainly because in 07 cars come as standard with the xenons

In 08 they stopped being standard and was an option, hence it's very very rare to find a k1 with xenons as most customers who ordered a car and did not get xenons was offered a free factory fitted k1 body kit instead

Nooooo you sold it what you got now? Fair play for keeping the armrest in the family.

After have 4 Leon's

2 mk2 cupras (silver one fully forged and stage 2 , red one very lightly modded)
1 mk2 fr tdi k1 marlboro replica on air ride
1 mk1 cupra 180

I've now got a modified 08 caddy with a pd130 swap , bigger turbo and its fully loaded inside with rear seat conversion, it's in the garage now having a 6speed gearbox and paddle clutch fitted so it can be mapped between 230-240bhp 360-380 ft lb

Fits the wife , 3 kids and my dogue de Bordeaux in much easier

Thanks bro

I was tempted to donate the cupra and tfsi swap it but at the cost of the cupra and a further 2300 I just could not justify the price

Surprisingly they are great to drive fast , mines on coilovers with mk7 golf r brakes fitted so it's like how the cupras are.

If its something you do decide to do give me a shout as the lad who done the engine swap on mine does quite a few as the 1.9tdi 105 engines are super weak and throw rods through the block on a regular, he converts and fits the older mk4 golf 1.9 blocks in and uses the caddy sensors so it's all OEM spec but reliable! So you could get yourself a caddy with a blown engine and have it all swapped out and running in a day and save yourself a big mark up on vw van scene tax

Nice one mate thats definitely good to know ill be in touch when im ready. Have always loved a modded caddy.

Got some ultimax discs and yellow pads from them going on week after next when the service is done. Then shes off to AKS 23rd September for clutch, stage 2 Airtec cooler, vis free wheel, cambelt and waterpump.

She sailed through mot. Service done. Cam follower had zero wear on it. New thermostat and small radiator fan fitted. Ready for AKS tuning next month.

Gotta bed front discs and pads in but they feel sweet.

Just need decat and downpipe,RS4 valve and vis fuel pump internals then shes ready for stage 2 plus. Better get her booked in at Rtech.

Need tyres as well PS4s lasted 11,000 miles is that about right?

Zero wear on cam follower. This was changed 13k miles ago but only 8k at stage 1. Still one of those things that for the cost its worth doing at every service in my opinion.
