Today i charged my Formentor e-Hybrid 245 and after showing 100% full it only give me ~24 miles (38km) for driving electic.
This is far from the ~36 miles (58km) they advertise.
Does anyone has the same or would I have a battery issue?

What type of driving was it? I get 30 miles minimum but that’s with no highway driving as that eats up range as there is no opportunity to use regeneration.

it is not about the driving range, but about the 100% full charge, which on the display show me then only ~24 miles which should be more in the range of ~36 miles. (BTW: I do drive almost no highway, this morning i drove my kids to school, electric only, and the distance was about 1.1miles (1.8km), and the car went from 23.6 miles (~38km) to 21.7 miles (~35km) on screen)

Dont forget when it gets colder your battery range decreases in line with that…pre heating the car whilst it’s on charge before your journey will help that a lot.

once the weather warms up,so does the cars ev range.

As Kash says as the weather starts to get colder you will notice a drop in range, as batteries are at their least efficient when cold. Preheating around 30 mins before your journey should help and you should be able to preprogramme this is the Connect app. Whilst also having the advantage of heating up the cabin, defrosting your car in freezing temps. Don't forget other variables such as how you drive and auxiliaries you use such as headlights, heating, radio etc... will also affect the overall electric range

I get the quoted ev mileage on mine mix of 20mph to 60mph on journeys some times I can push two miles over the quoted 37 and get 39 I have the 200bhp version ehybrid.

Today I had to charge again, car was under the 20%.....only drove 9-10miles (~15km) .....and charging scheme today was again ~24miles (38km).
Temp in NL is at night around the 10 Celsius and during the day 15 Celcius.
I'm driving very small distances, twice a day 0.6-1.2 miles (1-2km).....cannot be that my battery is already empty after 5 days.

No one else have this so far what i could read....
Got more and more the feeling this is not correct....
I already sent an email to SEAT/Cupra about this awaiting their response.

Displayed range is just an estimation based on previous drive. The only accurate test of electric range is to drive it till empty.

So a bit like the range left display on ICE models; it analyses the past 30 miles or so of driving and predicts the range left based on that.

when fully charged our displays 32 miles but as someone else said here if you drive at higher speeds ie motorway it will zap range

if going over 50 mph I change to hybrid or charge mode then use e drive when going slower

Hi, I have never charged to 36 miles, it us usually 27-30 miles, but now in winter its more likely under 30.

Hi, I am from Croatia so sorry for my english.
I have canceled my order for a 2.0 TSI 245 DSG and decided to buy a 1.4 e-hybrid 245. The plan is to drive mostly on electricity. But after this article, I'm interested in how much you can drive on electricity. Can you share your experiences.

I apologize for putting a post in multiple threads. I don't know why there are multiple threads on the same topic at all.
Thank you very much for your reply.

Happy to be proved wrong but in addition to the cold impacting predicted range indicated i am convinced the car is also doing a consumption based calculation just as it does for petrol. When I am out and about i am definitely more sporty than my wife and it can take several days for the predicted range to recover again. Yes it is reduced in the winter not only with battery charge but also heating and wipers etc. Often when it is showing a low predicted range at the start of the journey it can run for a fair while on electric only once it is showing zero range.

Predicted range is very much a black art even for petrol use on normal cars and vbased on how you have been driving at the time just for battery range we have heightened anxiety.

We have had ours for 10 weeks charging from an installed PodPoint every time the car is at home and wherever we find a free point and staying longer than an hour or two and have filled about two half tanks around £28 a time. We do not have a dedicated low tariff due to being in an existing fix, but average about £48 per month charging every time the car is at home. For the same miles we were spending around £150-160 per month.

We tend to use Hybrid mode if we are going a long distance and use the battery in towns etc. What i have noticed when the battery is very low and creeping in traffic in E mode the petrol engine ( I think a function of start stop can geting a bit over enthusiastic) makes for slightly jerky motion as you come to a stop. Not an issue once we have got used to it and generally if have a distance to go manually select hybrid.

Is there a way to reset the range it is displaying and effectively forget the previous 30 or so miles and how it was calculated, im lucky if mine says 22-24 at the mo, so its pretty disappointing however, I do appreciate it if its based on other factors aswell - however, I really dont hammer the car at all so its kinda frustrating that after a full charge thats all it says is possible

The thing is,it's extremely cold at the moment and that's what you are going to get, especially if you don't pre warm the car in the morning whilst plugged in.

Once the weather warms up,you will see the range climb up again.

They advertise 36 miles on a charge, but one wonders if they determined that on a flat test track or in a laboratory. As I have never ever achieved it in the 6-months I've had my Seat Leon eI-Hybrid. When I charge it only occasionally got to '30' miles range, however on day to day driving going up even a modest hill would see the battery drop like a stone. I live 6.5 miles away from work, so a 12-13 mile round journey. In the summer with careful driving I can do this twice (if I'm lucky), however in the winter - it charges less 23-28 miles and if I get to work and back on a charge ten that is about it.

An excellent idea, but the battery range is too low and you do spend your life charging it.
