Hi all
Thank you for the update Ric.
I have still not had any news from Seat UK. I have chased the
dealer several times and the now
Service Manager is currently off with Covid and apparently, he was the only one able to deal with the query and potential warranty claim.
I went back to the local Kwikfit and asked them to check again that they had selected the settings for the correct model. They have now said that they had used the only settings that were on their Hunter database and although they previously told me they had double-checked the settings and that the database was always regularly updated, they have now said that it might not be up to date or include all models! So that has been a complete waste of time.
I have found another local Hunter specialist and they have confirmed that our model is on the database.
In the meantime, my car had its second-year
service at a different Franchised
dealership. A much better
service experience to the other
dealership. They managed to find the correct settings for our model, so I really do not understand why the other main
dealer could not find the settings or tell me! Or even to tell me that they had to ask Seat UK for the settings.
I am unsure whether I can name these good or bad
dealers on this forum.
Anyway, here is a copy of the specification from the other
dealership - another VW group
dealership, but not a
Seat dealer, although the technicians all receive the same training, etc. I am not sure if it includes all the information required, but they were very helpful. They did comment that these settings are significantly different from all the other Leon models, including the five-door Cupra R. They are not able to do any tracking at their
dealership and would just be subletting it, the same as the other
dealership!
The
dealer also commented that the settings are quite aggressive and would probably cause the front inside edges to wear significantly and prematurely anyway. So perhaps my car/our cars are set up correctly and will always wear out the inner edges prematurely and so possibly poorly specified by Seat for real-world driving, perhaps something to constantly watch out for in the future.
I will get the tracking checked at the other local specialist in the next week or so.
