Hello all,
I want to change the fuel filter of my wife's car(see below)
read through some threads, but it is still not clear to me if I
can do it without the use of the VCDS.
Need to know if I can, because I do not have it.

Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Car Details:
Year: 2010
Seat Exeo 2.0 TDI CR Style 88 KW/120 HP
CAG344412

Don’t need VCDS to do it. Straight swap but make sure you fill the filter with fuel (easier to prime the car).

All done, straight swap, filled up the new fuel filter, all re connected, started her up, no problems.
Took her for a drive 2 hours later(about 20 km) perfect, no problems.

Thank you.

Good simple car the Exeo compared to todays cars. Wish they kept them like that. Glad its sorted mate.

Mine has a corroded fuel filter! Leaking diesel all over road. Looks like a mare to change! Any tips when everything is rusted up?

if it is leaking that bad, how do you drive it???:(:(
In general aluminum doesn't rust, you get some oxide on it, but shouldn't be a problem.
Just take the nut off in the middle, slide the top part to the right.
Take the 2 clips off either end of the hose, disconnect the hose on one side and connect the new filter
then the other side. (thats how I did it) and the reconnect everything.
NOTE: watch the FLOW direction when installing.
NOTE 2: Make sure she is NOT leaking somewhere else.

Have a great day.....:):)

Yeh, i know aluminium doesnt "rust" but it does corrode & it has a lot of corrosion on it so Im assuming its the leak. I wont know 100% till I take it off & check.
