1 week of ownership of Formentor V2 1.5ltr and yesterday the Keyless Access (KESSY) is showing an error.
Does anybody else have this issue.

😨 keep seeing more and more issues cropping up on here. Really starting to think twice about whether I should put in this order or not!

Have you tried putting the key in the cup holder as suggested in the manual ?
Apparently the aerial for the key reader is under the middle of the cup holders.

I am in the camp of owners that has software glitches but do they prevent me using the car on a daily basis? It is an emphatic no. Is it right for bugs on car in this price range, maybe not. But as i have said before i have had cars from BMW and Audi both with bugs in the display and controls but updates have come through which cured them. My last BMW was several years old before it got an update to fix most of them and just like the Formentor glitches none affected the quiet enjoyment of the product I own/lease.
I do realise that I am in the minority these days of everyone wanting instant gratification to be willing to wait for a fix to the software.

Hardware failures are a different thing but these seem to be a much smaller proportion of the complaints. With the world coming out of a pandemic I understand there are delays with OEM parts at all the manufacturers so Cupra is nothing different.

Bad service is typically dealer specific and again is reflected across all manufacturers but then choice of dealer is our prerogative.

Body armour and hard hat on! Expecting the incoming criticism……

I'm still waiting for delivery, but agree with everything you say.

Agreed.

Also, don’t forget the faults here are a minority.

A little bit of me wants to respond with If you’re not sure about buying one, don’t. Buy a brand with zero faults instead.

Yes it didn't make any difference unfortunately.

Now nothing at all just stopped working.
Ah OK, only because I was reading on another forum about a guy who had the same issue... but he had removed some trim inside the car that disconnected the RF Transmitter for KESSY to work. I do wonder if that component has become dislodged somehow? I have no idea where that might be however.

Problem Solved.
It turns out that having a metal toolbox in the boot blocks the KESSY signal as the transmitter is situated at the rear of the boot on the cross member under the trim.
Once I removed the toolbox the KESSY system works fine.
Thanks to everyone that responded did to this thread as all answers comb8ned put me onto looking into weak signal.

Love it.

I did find the Ateca with a lot of old satnav equipment in the boot for the dump had the effect of closing the electric tailgate without putting the foot underneath. All the metal work in the boot must have changed the behaviour of the proximity sensor for the foot in this case (stand just round the back and it closed it, no foot under). Dumped the equipment and all back to normal.

Originally on the first VAG Kessy car people use to lock themselves out by putting their keys in the boot with briefcase / sport bag keys inside etc. Closed it. It couldn't read that there was a key in the car and they locked themselves out. They were breaking windows, accessing the boot to get the keys out or phoning the partner for a spare set. I don't reckon it's a good idea to do the coding mod for auto locking with keys out, just in case the keys are in and it stops reading them.

Basically I don't totally trust Kessy. Saying that I haven't had any Kessy issues accept on the battery front.
