Fitting aftermarket amp in Leon Mk3

Hi Folks

I'd like to add an aftermarket amplifier (amp) and it would go under the passenger seat. I have a few questions though:

1) Has anybody undertaken this before? Does our forum have a thread I could use as I used the search button and couldn't find a build guide

2) Could anybody provide me with a guide on how to remove the passenger seat (heated)?
Here I guess it will be a case of disconnecting battery, loom and then unscrewing chair, but it would be good to have pictures of what the loom looks like, how it clips, so as not to break anything in the process. And having pictures of the bolts under the seat and torque settings, wouldn't be a bad thing either

3) Securing the amp: What have folks opted for, when fitting under the seat; I would want to avoid drilling in the floorpan, so what can you advise? what is known workable solution? Would it be better to remove the carpet?

4) Cabling. The power would come from the battery through the passenger footwell (this forum has details). But then, how to remove the passenger door lower trims? Are there DOs and DON'Ts


Anything I have forgotten? Please feel free to add with relevant info

No anger here Cairus, . (yes, I am asking the questions before even looking at the car)
I that is what you are saying, then understand that me looking at the seat and looms, doesn't trigger the same clarity as say - if you were to look at it.
Hence why it's important (for me) to collect existing knowledge, from fellow enthusiasts, as there is much to be gained from more experienced folks.

It is also an opportunity to gather and label all the info, so as to increase our knowledge base and find it all in the correct place

For example, to remove the kick panel, do i need to remove the bonnet lever?

Erwin won't tell me how to attach an amp to a car though; that is what a community is for; sharing experience, mistakes. Point is that our forum does not have all the information available in 1 single thread.

Have you looked to see if there is room under the seat? Some models have a storage box under the front seats.

Yes, which is why I needed some pointer on "how to".
But basically, remove the trim, lift carpet and insulation and the I found that, between the seat harness connection point and the air duct (leading to the rear footwell), there is space.

Why do you want to put it under the seat - and not in the boot? Presumably its an sub amp?
