Retro fit MIB2 issue

I bought a MIB2 system with all the stuff done on it and component protection removed. Install went perfectly and it jas worked lovely for a couple of months. However the last couple of weeks it has started randomly turning itself off and back on like it's doing a soft restart. I drive 41 miles to work and sometimes it can do it 6 times on that journey and sometimes once, and occasionally it seems completely fine.
Could it be a software issue? Not sure how to diagnose it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Would it show anything up on a diagnostic tool?

I had to deal with a similar problem. The culprit turned out to be a defective SD card with maps which for some reason reset the radio. After replacing it, the problem stopped.

It's wierd that you say that because the retro guys made me a new maps sd card and I did think briefly if it could be that. I'll take it out tomorrow and see if it changes.
