We have been approached by our friends at SEAT and CUPRA HQ on behalf of Top Gear, to find a member with a MK1 Leon CUPRA.

Ideally, pre-facelift in good condition, ideally stock, or as close as possible. It will be featured in an edition of Top Gear magazine similar to the one below.

The brief below from Top Gear

We’d probably only need the car for a couple of hours tops, essentially we’d just need enough time to allow myself (the journalist) to have a brief drive (on road only, just need to get some impressions, won’t be tracked or anything like that), then we’d head out with the photographer so we can get some front and rear dynamic shots (similar to the example).

Otherwise everything else would be static shots – so interior, details, things like that.
They’d cover insurance, and you as the owner is of course welcome to be there too.

Timeline: they would need to do it by the end of next week.

If you're interested, hit me up. If we get a lot of interest, we may need to do a random draw, but it may come down to location, etc. We've been told Top Gear can be reasonably flexible on location.

Any questions just ask.

Cheers,

Scott

Not an R? An original Cupra?

Yeah. Original CUPRA not an R.
I would have loved to offer my car, (although I am a stock 03 facelift model, so probably wouldn't be what they wanted.) What an opportunity though!
Unfortunately having had brake lines replaced last week with an unfamiliar local garage, I now have an un-driveable mess of a car with shot braking system ?

I had exactly the same car my first SEAT 2004 Leon Cupra - was an amazing car then downgraded to a BMW...

Unfortunately mines an R. Shame as it's stock apart from the air filter. And the front r badge is in the wrong place with the cupra badge next to it on the bumper. Which i need to change

OK, we're struggling with a pre-facelift - not guaranteeing a facelift will be what they are after, but can ask, so any facelift model owners interested?
Can’t believe no one has a standard Cupra.
There was a burnt orange coloured one for sale last year or the year before that I really wanted.
Low miles and one owner I think. Kinda wishing I’d got it now if they’re that rare.

Mty12345 has a very well maintained Cupra & he knows everything about them! He hasn't been on here for a while, so may not have seen the call to action, but could you approach/PM him? He's from Bristol.
I am so gutted about mine, it's being towed back to the garage tomorrow & can't believe this is the only time in it's life it's actually broken. ?
Best of luck, can't believe it's so quiet on the uptake ?
Thanks I've messaged @mty12345 and pointed him to this thread.

How’s things going with your car, still loving it?
Yeah love it. Had to travel to york from sheffield each day,for a week for work. Went through the country roads at 22:00 and 05:00 kept it on boost in 3rd-4th gear round the corners. All on private roads. Need to do a few things to get it in almost perfect condition
