Patient is stable. Short block’s on standby. JE & ZRP reinforcements incoming. Beast is catching its breath… probably dreaming of boost.

After a couple of months everything is finished, engine has been broken in, only had a minor oil leak from a gasket that has been replaced and ready for a new remap from 500 with stock internals to 550 and up, depending on fuel limitation.

Stock internals yet.
Max 2bar OB tapered to 1,8 @6500 approximately
15 degrees of timing advance (16 in winter).


After a couple of months everything is finished, engine has been broken in, only had a minor oil leak from a gasket that has been replaced and ready for a new remap from 500 with stock internals to 550 and up, depending on fuel limitation.

JE Ultra. Hope you went 83mm and not drop in. Why you choose 2618 pistons instead of the more daily 4032?

Which gasket had the leak, the one from crankshaft?
Also, on what turbo you had 500?

Thank you, the block was in excellent condition and I didn't really want to bore a perfect block, so all that was done was honing.
I was concerned about noise but I still went for 2618 because of the pistons themselves as I had feedback from other people and I heard about a particular incident where the turbo was blown to pieces the pistons didn't have a scratch, so I was impressed. It's also the best option for this engine according to my mechanic, at least from all projects he has built. Furthermore I don't notice any piston slap, even on cold start, just some blow-by during warm-up.

It was the valve cover gasket.
The turbo is the RTMG IS6XX ball bearing (GTX3076R GEN II) that is rated for over 600hp.

You might had less than 30-40K kms then, anyway.
JE Ultras have really good fame.
Have you gone with ARP bolts only in Head Studs or you added Main Studs and cam tower bolts?

I already know that RTMG 580X achieves very good numbers... I can imagine with 3076...
Do you know its A/R? It's based in stock .57 or bigger?
