Telematic module reusable?

Internet constantly drops out even if cell signal is good or using wifi. Multiple DTC’s from the telematics. Infotainment crashes. SOS fault on dash. Unable to connect to app I gotta pull the module to check it properly. But I suspect the module is failing. Tried software updates using ODIS no change.
The fault is more frequent in heavy rain and almost guaranteed after washing the car. I suspect water ingress. Once I pull the module I should be able to check for corrosion. I can send you evidence after I get the module out but I suspect the module is toast. and will require replacement. I’ll know more next week.
Are there any antenna related faults stored?

Try resetting the module... Press the SOS button on the ceiling, hold the button down, and without releasing it, cancel the emergency call on the infotainment screen. When you see the LED on the ceiling light blinking, it's resetting... You can stop pressing the SOS button now. Then you have to turn off the car for at least 30 minutes so that the control unit can go to sleep. Option 2 if this doesn't work. Replace the SOS module battery This module is behind the infotainment screen, so you'll need to remove it. There's a video tutorial on how to remove it.Once you access the communication module, replace the battery. This battery should last a long time since it's only used when the car is off (and to provide power, for example, in case of an accident)... But it could be the cause of those power outages if the battery is faulty.It is not optimal.
This one in particular is from an Ateca, but the Leon MK4 uses the same one. In the case of the Ateca, the module goes behind the digital display. If a battery replacement is necessary, I also recommend leaving the battery out for about 15 minutes to reset the module, and then installing a new battery.

I haven't looked at the car properly yet, I've only pulled fault codes, updated the mib and assumed worst case for some stupid reason.
I'll look into the reset and the battery, update the telematic module and if there are still faults present I'll go down the route of an antenna issue as suggested by james.
Only if none of that works will I go down the route of looking into the telematic module for hardware faults.
I'll let you know when its solved.
If anyone has any idea the following DTC's are active.
B201A00 Check Software Version Management (SVM) active/static
B122D29 Lock unit for central locking Range/Performance active/static
B1302F0 Electronic steering column lock control module not authorized active/static
There are also about 30 CAN and Low voltage codes. I've cleared the memory and we'll see what comes back as some may have been caused by removing the infotainment module as it was programmed on a bench instead of in the car as it wouldn't update in the car.
One passive fault does come to my attention. Stored in the Telematics unit.
B1915F1 Online services Function temporarily restricted due to battery budget passive/sporadic
Is this due to the 12v being low or does it indicate the internal battery is flat. I tested the 12v with a Midtronics and it it passed.
B201A00 and B1302F0 Look like possible causes. I'll get the software updated and I'm guessing the other module needs authorising or programming so I'll get that done too.
It 100% looks like I was wrong about needing a Telematic module.
Booking it in tomorrow for the hopefully sometime within the next 2 weeks. I don't have an ODIS so its easier to pay someone else.
There is also the active fault
B126B01 Housing fan electrical error active/static
It only becomes active when the engine is running and is stored in the Infotainment.
When the engine is off it goes back to passive.
I'm unsure if its related so currently ignoring it.
I'm not even sure it its referring to the blower motor or if the infotainment module has its own cooling fan.
As for the lock unit fault. No idea either.
I will check live data and cycle the locks a few times. See if any take too long to actuate. All doors lock and unlock including the boot so Idk.

Battery was at 89% so no need to replace however software version management apparently spent around 6 hours updating modules.
This resolved all issues.

Technical support would never advise a dealer/specialist to open a control module so I’d take that with a pinch of salt. They’d just tell them to replace the control module
The vast majority of software issues have already been dealt with (the 2020/2021 built cars were truly awful until they received the new baseline). Unfortunately some of them are still yet to be booked in for updates. Hopefully they performed all of your outstanding updates and not just the infotainment/telematics.
The prefacelift MQBevo vehicles are no longer a priority, it’s unlikely we’ll see any considerable updates for them now. The only control modules that are updated OTA are telematics and infotainment
I suppose however I'd like at least one more OTA to fix the changing vehicle settings notification.
Its no more than a minor annoyance tho. We'll see if technical are right about another OTA soon enough anyway since it should be out by the end of December if true.

Àgora is arriving an OTA (OUN8) 147MB, SOS MODULE It goes from software version 0144 to 0311 and in addition to a security patch it includes connectivity improvements. Warning: Deletes all users
Instructions Okay, this afternoon I went to turn on my car (I left it updating). It deletes the users. And it shows "Privacy." And the screen pops up asking for email and password. Steps: First, disable privacy settings and check that you have a white globe icon. Go back to "User Settings." Enter email and password. Then, the screen appears as if you're configuring it for the first time... Wait... Don't worry, don't do anything... You'll get a message saying that the settings will be loaded. Accept. And the settings you had before the update will be reloaded... Step 2: I added a second user. It logged in and asked me to authorize it in the app for the second user. With a QR code on the screen. I did it and accepted. The same thing happened; the screen appeared to configure it as if it were the first time. I waited again, and it sent me another message saying that the settings would be loaded. Accept. Each time Both the primary and secondary users who loaded the settings It turned on the lights in both doors and the yellow blind spot light. To indicate that it's "applying the settings" Another thing to keep in mind is that when I switched back from the secondary account to the primary one, it asked me to enter my S-PIN. Even though I had it saved... Keep that in mind and remember your S-PIN... Nothing, I just clicked "remember" again and that was it...
In regards to the preforming all updates I believe so. As later I had faults for check SVM. I took it back. They ran Software version management and it apparently spent a few hours updating more.
Yea the software update installed this week for me. Seems to have made the system smoother also noticed it removed the store app which didn’t do anything anyway, however I still get 2 issues.
The screens proximity sensor still doesn’t work. Used to work until the specialist did all the updates. I have no idea why it doesn’t work.
Repeated “Changing Vehicle Settings” notification which I have to manually close. I had this issue for a while too. Again no idea.
Ultimately I don’t know what causes these issues but they aren’t as detrimental as the issues I previously had.
OTA’s should install pretty effortlessly so long as connectivity is active.
If not then yea potentially it may require manually updating with ODIS which only dealers and some specialists will have.

I've sent my car to a local facility here in ROI (Co.Waterford) to replace SOS battery and update the electronics. I'll report how successful it is when the car comes back.
My strong preference was to have Yorkshire Retrofits do it as they've installed a reversing camera which works perfectly. But ferry transport to UK has become very inconvenient and expensive so I'm trying the local option.
