Hello,

Over the last 4-5 months, the MIB2 screen in my Leon has been acting on its own (like phantom touch). It'll occasionally respond to touches, or it will press a million things at once and go to different screens, change the radio, or worse case start calling my contacts.

I've heard that one issue is the cold temperature, but this is still happening when the cabin has warmed up on my way to work. I have cleaned the screen, and factory reset the system as well, which hasn't resolved it so I'm guessing it is a hardware problem. I have yet to update the firmware to a newer version.

Any fixes for this? The last thing I want to do is spend hundreds of pounds on a second hand unit which may or may not work.

Many thanks

2017 Seat Leon FR, 1.8.TSI, 245BHP :)

Ah okay, I'm Kent based so a bit far for me. I'll see if there is one more local or if I can do it myself.

Thanks again, much appreciated

The screen, buttons and surround are just a single display and control unit so can whip the old one out and fit the new one with no need for any trickery. The only bit that is important is to match the part number from your screen with the replacement to ensure compatibility.

Yeah, been having a look around and it is just the full MIB2 unit. Does any coding need to be done as its from another car or is it just plug and play?

The display is just a display. Plug and play.

We can replace the LCD if you post it to us

Sometimes a good clean is enough to fix, otherwise it needs replacing. There’s a bulletin from SEAT that basically says tough luck it’s a quirk of the touchscreen type

Mine does this on cold mornings. I just let it warm up after a minute or two and it's fine. Yes it's annoying but I can just about live with it. Sometimes a little massage in the corners helps too.

Mine takes a little bit longer, about 10 minutes. But yeah,. I can live with it to be honest, will just have to wait until the summer

I have heard stories about adding a screen protector sometimes helps. I guess with it sticking to the 'glass' it adds a bit more rigidity to the surface so it doesn't contract as much in the cold. Really that's all that's happening. The screen contracts so much it tightens and causes pressure on the sensors beneath thus registering as a 'touch'.
