For over a year ive had this weird problem where the power will ONLY go to the front right wheel no matter what way im turning or what i do. So much so ive gone through x3 tyres on that side and still on the same tire on the left.

i know open diffs work by giving power to the wheel with the least traction, but i can have the whole car weight on the opposite side and the front right wheel will still spin up pulling me quite dangerously across the road.

anyone got a clue where to start looking?

Surely that can only be linked to the diff / gearbox been knackered, I can't think of any other reason for it.

No idea! I dont know my way around diffs well, but No issues with the gearbox. Im assuming its either something electronic going wrong or a mechanical grip/resistance issue.

These gearboxes are completely mechanical, no electronic diff wizardry to be found here.

Good to know. Ill look into the diff being an issue then. Am planning on getting an aligment just to rule that out.
Agree with Thai, most likely the diff. Only other thing i could think of, is that maybe the driveshaft splines could be broken on that side or something else weird like that.

Its a weird one. Im going to start with an alignment.

I did have to repair both traction control wires in the wheel arches last year as they'd both come loose and rubbed on the wheel. I am wondering if thats causing gremlins...

Shouldn't have thought so as the traction control applies the brakes on the wheel it thinks is spinning. If it was doing that then you would have red hot brakes and probably have gone through numerous brake pads etc
