Hey, any luck with keeping the purple?Hate to confuse……but, added a new profile a few weeks back (to better sync with cheap electricity overnight)……….started the car……hey presto been enjoying a purple ambience ever since….
It’s still not a choice in my light settings, so I suspect if I change it I won’t get it back…..(so I am not going to try)
I am h56 & 1940!
Software hey………
my problem is, I have all the tools, but I don't know where to get the data set from. this time it's really a well-protected secretFor the record:
I spent HOURS with two Formentors side by side, one with Purple and one without.
I did full extracts of coding of both cars with OBDeleven and did a diff compare of the files.
Even with the exact same values on both cars I could not get purple.
There is another module involved and it has also an older software version.
That module contains a look up table providing the colours to be displayed - all that our configs do is choose which position of the look up table to fetch a color from.
Since Purple is not a configurable version in the look up table for older cars, forget about doing it.
Technically it would be possible if you have access to the software to either update the involved modules or just write the newer dataset to old modules, but this is something that CANNOT be done with OBDeleven or VCDS.
Let's please stop asking.
It seems I am quite out the loop then. I thought the topic was long dead. Do you happen to know the name of the editor as I'd like to have a look.Yeah, the process itself is simple and it seems quite tested - there is even a new editor out.
Where it gets complicated is.... You need either ODIS of VCP tool and those are quite expensive....

That is my blog and editorApparently it is as simple as flashing a different dataset, however, I don't know enough to know if the dataset provided in this link is the correct one for a Cupra Formentor. Part of me wanted to "just run it" but I'd likely mess something up and my car would become a brick. Apparently it's a case of flashing the linked Dataset to module 9 at address 7206 and changing the aformentioned bitmask values.
Here's the link.
I share this in the hope that someone with more knowledge can finally confirm if this is possible, I'm getting rather bored of green, blue, red and white. Need a new exciting colour lol.
