Hi all right I haven't been here for a while for which I apologise.. Life just gets in the way. But I'm in need for some help to maybe get my car running as it should again. If possible.......

I know she is an old boat now so dependant on cost this might not be worth doing. I understand this fully.

Just to put you in the picture I have recently had my DPF removed and cleaned along with a new battery as I was informed the problems could potentially go away when completed.

So this had Cleared the DPF light but I still gave and engine light and coil flashing light showing. And to make matters worse MOT is end of next month. YEY

Now I have been pushed from pillar to post for several months, most telling me get rid, some wanting to help, but then after spending my money with the above, not interested and after work also some gave unneeded rudeness. I wont name any garages as I'm not here to shame - I just want to potentially get to the bottom of the issues and fix it if possible.

Even if its for another year. its is what it is.

So I do have a very old VAG COM for which I have been trying to give the information to said garages and non is interested at all. Just want to run their Diagostics.

Hi mate. Not an expert on diesels by any means, but seems the first code is related to the variable vanes in the turbochrger. May be that they are all gunked up with carbon. https://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/18995/P2563/009571 I know people used to use Mr muscle oven cleaner to clean them, but there are also specialist products that do the same job. Not sure of the turbo location in your car, but if you can get to it that may be worth a shot.

Second code for the exhaust gas temp sensor, I think that is located close to the DPF, again it could be covered in soot or could just be faulty.

What engine is it?

Might be the turbo actuator, maybe the N75 valve.
The two exhaust gas temperature sensor faults, they might be something related to your DPF removal?

You need to vacuum test the actuator, the arm can move freely but if the diaphragm inside has ruptured it won't work correctly.

Hi all sorry for not replying sooner. I have tried doing a little reserch aswell as reading you coments on here. I have just had lots of work on. 😑

Im thinking of swapping the not so expensive parts out that could be the course. In help to narrow things down.

So.... I am going to change the sensor to the dpf linked to that fault. And see if that removes that fault, these faults was there before i had the dpf cleanined was told it would go away. Did not obviously.

I will be checking the actuator rod movement whilst in in there.

Im also looking at changing the boost presure sensor

Do you think its alao worth replacing the n75 valve whilst im at it.

And what sort of set up would you recomend using to test the actuator will hold presure/function as should.
If the actuator is faulty is it easy to change or is it turbo out jobby?

Yea I had that engine in my last Leon and the diaphragm in my actuator failed.

To test the diaphragm you need a vacuum tester, connect it directly to the vacuum nipple on the actuator and give it a good few pumps and watch the gauge. If the gauge holds firm it's good, if it starts falling or can't even move off the bottom then your actuator is dead.

Can be replaced with the turbo in position, but you need VCDS to setup the new actuator.

Ok. I will look at getting a vacume tester aswell. Um if you dont mind me asking is there a link or do you know the correct way to set up with vcds.

Is this somthing i can do with my version. I know its quite dated.

Quick update.

Changed the exhaust sensor and n75.

Both doing their jobs and exhaust sensor code is gone.

N75 is new and functioning as should. I have vacuum tested actuator and nothing. Will not hold anything. I can hold my finger over the end of the pump or fold the hose and it will hold to show the pump works. But on the actuator. Nothing.

Am i to assume the actuator is toast. If so what part number am i to order and how do i find out of my vcds can run the appropriate tests to set up being quite old.

Not sure, when I'd confirmed mine was goosed I booked it into a specialist and had them source, fit and setup the actuator.
There seemed to be a few options, and I couldn't be bothered messing around trying to find the right part and figure out if I could set it up properly.

If you can get the old one off, it should have a part number you can search to at least get what you need to order.

So i have managed to find the correct part number, that is ordered. I have been able to confirm my vcds is able to read the voltage and info settings enough for me to calibrate. So monday it looks like ive got a job to do.

Thank you. So i update.
Exhast sensor replaced. That code is gone.
N75 and Actuator replaced, calabrated and tested. That code also gone.

Let me tell you the Actuator is a pita job but finaly after a few days in my spaire time got it corectly working. The variable veins were free moving smoothly so thats a nice suprise.

Now i have a dpf error code saying its over the limit, ie the grams are too high. My vcds wont clear the memory properly. So i am taking it monday to a dpf specialist to see if he can. I dont think it was reset properly when reinstalled. So fingers crossed. 🧐
