Hi everyone. Just wanted to share a small inconvenience I've encountered with my Raval V1 since I got it in July.

When I charge the battery up to 80% at home and then start the engine, I get a series of alerts on the dashboard about the ADAS: front assist, side assist, lane assist, park assist etc. The alerts say these systems are either failing or working with limitations.

If I turn the engine off and restart it, all the faults vanish from the dash, as if nothing had happened. More inportantly, the car drives normally and the ADAS seem to work fine.
I don't have this problem if I only charge up to 60%.
A friend of mine has the exact same thing with his Raval.

Cupra tells me to take the car to the dealership for inspection, but the dealership finds no error.

I'm very happy with the car overall, but find this slightly annoying. Anyone else with this issue and a possible solution?

I've had the same issue with front assist messages and a yellow triangle in the instrument display. I always charge to 80%.

I keep my car in a garage which means the front assist is usually triggered when I park and charge overnight. Once I back out and drive off, the message goes away. That was with the software version 6.0 as delivered. I completed an OTA update to 6.0.1 a couple of days ago and I haven't seen the problem since.

Thanks for that. Good to know the update took care of the ADAS failure false messages.

I tried to update to 6.0.1 version O.T.A. back in September, but the installation failed and I've got a permanent yellow triangle on the dash since, because of this. Unfortunately, the system won't let me try the update again.

I took the car to the dealership to clear the fault and have them to manually install the 6.0.1, but they couldn't do it to this day, they claim they depend on Cupra Tech department whom are not giving a response as yet. I have an open case with Cupra on this. Hopefully they'll sort it out soon.

Incomplete updates seem to cause the ADAS and warnings had it a couple of times, then cleared as soon as the car has completed its update. The software is not as stable as it should be and they seem to remove a couple of bugs or issues for another one to appear. Some of it feels like trial and error too. Luckily I have had no issues once underway and driving the car.

Doesn't the car ask before proceeding to update?
Yes, it does. If the update fails, it gives you a permanent warning on the dash, and you get daily notifications to remind you of this, starting with "Legal warning...".
Problem is you don't get a second chance for an O.T.A. update. You've got to take it to the dealership.
I'll be takng mine on Monday, at Cupra Customer Service's request. I'll be given a courtesy car only if it takes more than 48h to fix, bit of a bummer.

Honestly thats very sloppy coded software if anything. Hopefully that gets changed soon. It's not acceptable.

In all the computer centers that I worked in, we had a "Change Management" team who reviewed every proposed update with the developers. The devs had to provide a back out plan to return the software to the previous status in the event of a failed update. In a distributed environment, the devs would need to have a routine that ran after the update which verified that the update had completed as planned. If the verification failed there should be a routine to revert the software status.
