Hi all,

I've got a 2025 Ibiza I've just bought (cat s repaired), done a couple hundred miles in it no problem at all.

Left home the other day and after about 5 minutes the dashboard lit up with all the warning lights it could and got fault messages for practically every sensor in the car. Tyre pressure, parking sensors, auto lights, front assist, ecs etc. Almost like the ECU lost connection with everything.
Also found that the engine was almost "pulsing" when idle, though I'm assuming that's just a symptom of it losing all the sensors.

I've let the car sit overnight but it throws up all the errors again as soon as I turn the ignition on.

Anyone have any initial ideas I can try before I go ahead and buy an OBDEleven to read the fault codes?

Sorry I should have added a few more words. The 2025 Ibiza ECU is protected by SFD2. I don't use OBD11 but I do not think it is SFD2 compatible. Wouldn't want the op to shed out money only to find it doesn't work. Others on the site who use it will know or check with OBD11 direct.

If he's only buying it to read the fault memory of each control unit then he should have avoided the need to unlock any modules protected by SFD.

Having the bonnet open is usually enough to deactivate the diagnostic firewall for fault diagnosis, attempted alterations to the coding or dataset will require SFD unlocking.

SFD2 isn’t touched for simple diagnostic scans

Open the bonnet
Disable the diagnostic firewall in the diagnostic gateway (SFD1)
Crack on as usual

"Crack on" are two good words 👌.

Last year I had the ABS issue which knocked out the cameras in the Ateca, reversing and top view. Didn't affect anything else except there was no reversing camera or top view but set up a Xmas tree light show on the dash. Happened on holiday. Could clear it with Obdeleven but then it returned 30 minutes later or whatever. It did flag up ABS, I continued another two weeks till I got home. You wouldn't think ABS sensor failing would effect the reversing camera and top view but it did.

Must be some weird error checking that then leads to other functions in the car not working correctly. The dealer knew of the issue. Must have been a regular manifestation created by failed ABS sensors. Description and knew the issue to the service desk. What you get with a quality dealer.

I still got charged the finders fee for the dealer scan even thou Obdeleven had pointed to the ABS but wasnt going to sort it out myself in anycase. But it was nice on the road to clear the errors even if they did return 🙄 untill the ABS sensors were changed. Two sensors had failed.
