Hi all, after some help/advice please.

Car is a 2017 Leon Cupra 300 which I purchased just over a month ago.

Want back to dealer last week as cd player wasn’t working.
Car is back now but the infotainment system has changed, I now only have a carousel type selection and cannot change to the grid style listing, I cannot change to the multiple interior light colours, CarPlay/Apple no longer works, plus various other options are no longer available.

The system information says software is 0241, is this correct?

I’m not sure what’s changed but I’m guessing the dealer has reloaded the wrong version …?

Anyone able to confirm or help much appreciated before I have a conversation with the dealer (Not a Seat dealer).

Thanks in advance 🙏

0241 is the oldest MIB2 software that SEAT released into the wild

0253 is the latest for your software train. Or, we can update to a newer train so you’ll benefit from a nicer user interface

They’ve replaced it with an older hardware version, that was installed on the later prefacelift Leon’s

CarPlay etc not working is likely due to them not restoring your software licenses

Thank you for your reply, will both these work with the cd player?
I’m just trying to figure out why they updated the software, would they have needed to just to change the cd changer?

They’ve replaced the unit with an older hardware version, they haven’t updated the software at all

Ideally you need to be on 0480 or 0516 as your car has the 8” display. They’re not DIY updates as they require crossing between software trains

We can perform them with the car at the workshop or you can post the unit to us

Sorry, I’m not understanding here….

Are you saying that by changing over the cd changer, this has altered/changed the software on the infotainment system?

the unit they put in is older than the car should have been 5qa035858 a or probably b for a 2017 car.

the infotainment unit is the cd player

Aahh ok so the software is loaded in the cd changer, not on the ‘screen’ itself?
That makes sense , thank you.

So i need to go back to the dealer and ask them to replace the cd changer with one that is specific to my model and year?

Thanks again guys 🙏

The screen is just a screen, it does have some software on it but it makes 0 difference visually or operationally - nor can it be updated

The unit in the glovebox is the control module. It either needs replacing again and properly adapting to the vehicle, or come to us and we'll sort the existing unit out properly

Well they put an old unit in and not the "latest" and final 516 firmware. Probably got it "new" or from a breakers thus it's on the old train and all that. So you got the issue that people of that vintage want to get on the latest train 5* but it needs on the bench as above. That which @East Yorkshire Retrofits use to be able to do via mail order. You'd have to check their website.

You buy a set of keys. Watch a YouTube video which shows the use of the keys. Slide it out and unclip the leads. Then you courier it to a retrofitter. Your dealer would have to do it. Then on the bench they do their retrofitter magic. In the past a number of people would mess up their units by fiddling with the firmware so they got sent up north to fix. This is one of the business of retrofitters to prep the units.

I know about the keys since in an Arona you can't see the SD slots. The SD went in the CD slot. Not my car so my name was rubbish. Got the keys. Broke the seal. Opened it up and pulled out the SD. Apparently it's a favourite place for kids to put coins in 🙄. Anyhow in an Arona you use your finger nails to find the SD slots. Lesson learnt.
