  1. Disabling Corner Fogs

Sorry for replying to an old thread but mxr how did you replace your fogs did you remove your bumper and is it the 2012 face lift version? As I'm trying to get my bulbs sorted there too

    Headlights (Aftermarket HIDs) and VAGCOM!!

Do your HIDs have a can bus system built in? If not that could be your problem and you'd need to buy some pre wired load resistors (eBay). Same goes for LEDs. Some modern cars can bus system cause even can bus ready LEDs to flicker and produce errors.
  3. Disabling Corner Fogs

...managed to change all my side lights to the same Can Bus LED bulbs with no error lights, but for the inner pair I got myself some can bus Resistors off Ebay and used them with the LED bulbs. I did have an error light before i got the resistors but it was bugging like that. I also quite...

    A few bits and bobs

You don't need to spend £30 on reg plate LED's. There are no can bus friendly festoon ones that I know of but all you need is some £2 38mm SMD festoon bulbs. You can then use scotchlocks to put a resistor across the 2 wires for each bulb. Or you can go to a scrap yard, cut off 2 sidelight bulb...

    PIAA Sidelights

I'm yet to come across Any 501 bulbs that are actually close to white, I'd be interested to see how these turn out They should work error free if they are normal filament bulbs I also find that LEDs, even with a built in resistor flicker and blink on more modern cars like ours... U could try...

    BTCC LED running lights

The prob is...having it hooked straight to the fusebox takes you out of the evil clutches of CAN-BUS.... Once we start tinkering on the bus...muchos problemos. Unless there's an easy "resistor" bypass for that as well.
  7. Anyone got aftermarket headlights?

Hey there I was wondering if anybody has got aftermarket head lights with LEDs? I just recently bought ones by Dectane and the LEDs in the right head light unit shut off after a while and sometimes both LEDs (left and right) just shut off. I've tried everything I possibly can but to no avail...
  8. Facelift Tail lights to Pre-Facelift MK5

Mine hasnt got the option either... thought about fitting some can bus resistors to trick the car but they get to hot to put in the cluster so I'd have to run the wires into the car and hide them behind the carpet I guess :(

    Help with LEDs

Wondering if someone can help me I'm looking to fit led front sidelight bulbs (501). I've noticed all the can bus error free ones for sale say the bulbs my req resistors for VAG car 07 onwards. Wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a company that sells ones that work with my...

  11. Leon Mk2 HID Retro Fit Help 35w or 55w Canbus H7 or H7r

The most popular HIDs kit here is the terminator one by hids-direct.com. People usually go for the 35W since it is strong enough and has less glare than 55W. I wouldn't recommend 55W since I have tried a couple of kits in my car (granted they were non-canbus but I have decoders/resistors) and...

    Bright white centre light

http://www.hids4u.co.uk/led-festoon-bulbs/ Hope this link works ? This is the website , you are after a can bus festoon light 40mm. If you read the description it tells you they are for cars with bulb failure systems . And they have a built in resistor . The cost is 7.14 incl postage . Any...

    Front bulb changes

If I was to do it I would go with a 50W 6 Ohm RESISTOR. All I mean is surely an LED bulb is either can bus or not, if its not you need resistors, if it is its built in. I am just ranting now.

    LED lights

You need some 5w5 LED bulbs for the sidelights like these clicky and some 382 LED bulbs for the DRL's like these clicky HOWEVER!!!! as you have found by reading the other threads you will be very very lucky to get any of these bulbs to work straight out of the packet. This is because...
  15. Overheating (Update Post 35, please help!)

If I was to buy new fans, would the resistors get replaced? Am I taking a gamble forking out for them or would you generally assume it would fix the problem? Pretty bored of messing about with it now, he's going to need it til Monday to do this alone so I'll have to get the bus to work in the...

    HID kits

You should only really be getting HIDs for dipped beam. For a white beam, you'll want 5000k or 6000k/8000k for HIDs with a blue tinge. For main beam, stick with standard halogens (the whitest being Osram Nightbreaker Plus) due to the fact that HIDs need to warm up (5 seconds+) and flashing them...

    Front bulb changes

I already use "can bus " loaded LED's and have done since I had my Leon 1P, but is the curcuit still there then so you can run DRL ??, which would be very useful [ I wondering has the EXEO headlight has two side lights per head light if one of the side lights can be change has a DRL!!]

    Anyone Recommend Bulbs?

CANBUS LEDs are LEDs that have resistors and stuff built in to them, the idea is that with the resistors they will draw a similar level of current as the existing bulbs, meaning the bulb failure light in the dash won't come on. The problem is on the Ibiza they don't work, the bulb warning light...

LC_15 Homegrown BTCC Kit Leon Cupra - APR stage 2, Race exhaust, Painted Rocker Cover

Hi on the sidelights going off, are they LED ones? If so they wont work because the lights are CAN-bus controlled, LED's dont draw any power compared to normal sidelight bulbs, therefore the computer cuts the power as it thinks the bulb has blown. Id imagine there's led bulbs with resistors...
