Bought from another forum member July 08. A nice example, no rot.

KiwiCupra suffered clutch failure in Nov 08, but not the usual Mk2 problem. The clutch pushrod went straight through the release plate, skewering the gearbox to the engine.

In the process of sorting it (thread) I discovered the car had at some point been fitted with a gearbox from a 1990 Mk2 golf (stronger). The clutch that was bodged in was too small and I had to source a proper sized one (to match the box) and adapt the flywheel to fit.

The car has a lovely clutch action. [B)]

New rear bearings
New rear discs and pads
20mm spacers on rear
New exhaust

and............
retrieved from my loft where they've sat for several months.....

AP coilovers. No more tractor stance! Not on it's arse, because it's a daily driver.

Look's very nice Dave. A credit to it's owner's
Cheers Rich!

Thats the thing with Mk2's Dave.. they do get right under your skin.

They really do. Off to get the front alignment sorted tomorrow now.

I had to buy a new catback exhaust on 'tinternet, John. £104 delivered. (as opposed to about £190 from Kwikfit). I found it didn't fit on the tail of my cat as it had a pushover section that was the same size - and it was about 3" too long there. I solved it by chopping the pushover section off and using it to sleeve the remaining section, then I used the OEM joiner section over that and the cat tail.

You had me lost with the "wave at Z comment" until I spotted his cheesy grin and special wave at the back of his motor !!!

Looks so much better on the AP's  Will be interested to know what they perform like, as I've heard a few good sthings about them of late ;)

I've only had a few runs round the block to let it settle, Andy. Although my alignment is well out, the initial impression on the APs is good. :)
